so the prices are $999 but £999 LOL the pound is still higher then the dollar still ripping us off
They pay various taxes on top of that $999 price. Exactly how much depends on what state.

Thanks for that but it still begs the question, if correct, as to why Apple didn't, at this hugely important world-wide launch, have this demo phone ready. It's a cock-up one way or another.https://www.apple.com/business/docs/iOS_Security_Guide.pdf
"The passcode can always be used instead of Touch ID, and it’s still required under the following circumstances:
- The device has just been turned on or restarted.
- The device hasn’t been unlocked for more than 48 hours.
- The passcode hasn’t been used to unlock the device in the last 156 hours (six and a half
days) and Touch ID has not unlocked the device in the last 4 hours.
- The device has received a remote lock command.
- After five unsuccessful attempts to match a fingerprint.
- When setting up or enrolling new fingers with Touch ID."
For those wondering/ haven't seen anyone post it yet the iUP pricing for the X and 8.

what is the deal with buying an iphone in usa and bringing it back to the UK? Im going to florida in january, i could buy one over there, save £250 and bring it back.
Should be fine just check about the warranty etc, if it supports all uk bands.
Ooh good job I bought mine in July then. Apple are really taking the biscuit over brexit.Seriously annoyed with the pricing. They have basically put the iPhone 8 up by £50 based on last years jet black plus price and £1149 for the X 256gb is a price killer in my opinion.
On a side note I see they put the iPad Pro 10.5" 256gb up by £50 tonight as well.
Yes o2 pricing is nuts three uk up their prices too back in the old days. I got a iPhone 4 free phone unlimited data,Text and minutes for £35 three uk one plan now your looking £70 £80 with three.Holy crap!! nearly £100 a month is insane, Vodafone do it at 60gb data for £72 with £30 up front with free Spotify etc for 24 months.

Look at the Note 8 prices you will get the idea how much they will charge for iPhone xwhere are you getting the o2 and voda pricing?
Although unlikely to get caught, you are liable for VAT and import duty. Also the Charger will be USA plug Type.

I am disappointed that iPhone 8 64GB price is same last year iPhone 7 128GB price.
I was hoping 64GB come back and I like YES, then see USA price it was fine. Then later check Apple website and I like WHAT?! £699. Should be cheaper.
I can't hold on iPhone 6 no more. Battery really bad.I probably will order iPhone 8 64GB and barely accept new price.
I see Apple website for cases for iPhone 7 also use iPhone 8? If that true then brilliant cos save money buy any iPhone 7 case out there now.

Difference in bands. US iPhone supports different frequencies and UK supports different frequencies, some are common, others are different. You should double check before buying if it'll work fine and be able to utilise all network features offered by your carrier here in UK.
