And another here.. I've held off giving my daughter my iPad air 2, I'm glad I bought the pro early though. £50 towards the new bloody phone...

How they manage to get away with these price hikes is beyond me, seeing the £ recently gained traction against the $

Using a iPhone 7+ 256gb as a basis for Vodafone it costs £74 a month with £100 up front for 32gb which is £12 more a month than what I am paying now, so I reckon it will be closer to £78 a month with possibly the same money upfront.. *ouchies*

View attachment 717132 Regarding the Apple Upgrade Program, it seems the Apple Store app on iOS now allows you to join the program from within the app

This wasn't showing up before today's announcement. Obviously, it won't allow you to actually choose a phone until Friday 15th.

It says in the app though it's still only available in store, which is confusing?

lol, You can purchase a Note 8 for £869 + Galaxy s8 for £540 +£1409 Probably some Quidco cashack too

or purchase a iPhone X 256GB For £1149 + Applecare £200 + £1349
you do the maths. lol

Why add the cost of AppleCare to that? Do the Samsung phones come with free insurance?

I'm still struggling to comprehend the pricing, £999 is madness. With $999 in the US I'd expect the UK price to be around £799. Just can't see how they can justify the £200 increase.

I was hyped for this but the price has left a very sour taste in my mouth.

$999 is £753, add VAT and you get to £903. So no way it would be £799 but it should have been priced at no more than £919

I don't remember VAT being such a big factor on other launches and with other products when comparing US to UK pricing? Obviously the £ has took a battering due to Brexit but it's not as bad as the parity pricing Apple have used for the UK.

My postcode has been entered into Free Postcode Lottery draw for the last couple of years.. really hoping I will finally win in the next few weeks!

Signed up for the iUP lat year with a 128GB Jet Black +

I have 9 months left to pay so roughly £400, Gonna pay of the loan and sell the phone on envirofone (£454) and then am thinking of signing up for the iPhone X 256GB using the monthly payment programme £54 a month. Any one else thinking of doing the same?

I feel like the upgrade programme is a bit irrelevant now and also in the UK we don't need AppleCare with consumer law you can normally get stuff fixed/swapped over if you know the right thing to say in store. £54 a month is an extra tenner from what I'm currently paying a month so not a massive deal!

....no it doesn't?!

When I click on 'Join', this is the next page.

The 'Select' button is still obviously greyed out until Friday but I can't see anywhere within the app where it says only available in store?!

Gonna sit this one out. no 128GB option is a deal breaker for me. I have no need for 256gb, and 64 won't cut it. Ordering a replacement battery instead for my 6s Plus launch day phone!

My contract actually does come to an end this month too. Switching to tesco mobile from o2 (since o2 is the only decent signal around here). £12.50 a month with 6gb data. win.

Well the X looks really nice and I can easily live with 64GB but they must have alienated so many buyers by omitting a 128GB version. £1149 is mind boggling and £999 isn't much better. Well I have 6 weeks to think about it as I'm definitely not getting the 8+ when my 7+ serves me well enough.

I agree about the 128GB option being removed. From a business perspective it's great as people not quite sure on how much space they need will always plump for the larger capacity. Ethically; it's terrible and with the ludicrous UK pricing, I think Apple are taking the piss.
