Not sure wheter to go for the 8+/X. The ONLY reason is Face ID, I'm just so accustomed to Touch ID, and i've read a statistic that we unlock our phone 80 times a day and I think with the X people will just go back to normal passcodes which is unfortunate because for Face ID it requires certain conditions and you gotta hold the phone a certain way which ultimately idk if it's worth the compromise but going to wait until reviews and impressions..

Massively deflated about the prices to be quite honest. However, I will still be purchasing the X. Unfortunately, I think I need the 256GB option but am going to have a good clean up and see if I can manage on the 64GB.

I have already locked my Envirophone price but it is only valid for 21 days. So I am going to sell my 7 Plus for £525 in the next two-three weeks and then buy the cheapest iPhone from Apple and return it before the 2 week period, and then do that again if I have to until I can get my hands on an X. I didn't want to go down this route, but having to wait until November, it would mean taking a big hit on my resale price. Usually I wouldn't mind, but with the prices of the X, I want to save every pound I can.
Wait envirofone have locked your price for 21 days?? I sold last Thursday and they emailed me today reminding me that the price is locked for 14 days. I was thinking about doing what you said buying the 8 then returning it near the very end of the refund period as to save time and money in case i wanted to go for the X. Still undecided but times ticking.

The only thing making me rethink my decision to not go with iphone x is i'm planning on movingto EE and the LTE for the apple watch series 3 is interesting depending on the price of that on top of the iphone x.thinking on note 8 atthe moment but i know once october 27th comes i will rethink my decision so will try and hold out and see on tarriff prices..

When do you guys think we will see prices from carriers? surely within the next few weeks i would hope?

Can anyone please explain why in simple terms, the US price of the 64GB X is $999, and the UK price is £999?! Am I missing something?

I'm sure other previous phone launches have more closely reflected the exchange rate..

The US price doesn’t include VAT or Sales Tax.

Fair enough, thought it might be something as simple as that.

Does anyone know if when taking into account VAT/sales tax and the exchange rate if our price of £999 fairly reflects what the US will pay for the equivalent?

Because Apple are basically taking the piss out of us.

The Pound is almost exactly the same rate against the Dollar as it was last year but they have decided to gouge us even more this year.

No, it converts to £902 including the VAT.

To be honest... we have a little thing called Brexit which will continue to weigh down on the £
Then adjust it if and when it needs to be adjusted. Don't rip us off and charge us a load extra in case it does drop lower one day.

My friend lives in the USA (NYC) , they pay sales tax of 9% which is state wide and then a city/county tax of 5% and then it has other levys on it but he's expecting it to come in at around $1250 which is around £940. £59 difference which isn't bad tbf. when you calculate other things Apple have to do outside of its margins it's probably not a profit

All companies hedge against it in the initial pricing, sadly :(

Folks may want to consider John Lewis (when they get stock) with their 2 year warrantee.

We've got a well looked after iPhone 6S Late Feb '16 took it to apple store they wanted £385 "out of Warranty repair"
to confirm this iPhone was only 6 months out of Warranty and cost £599.00 - not small change.

Luckily it was purchased from John Lewis and they are fixing FREE under their 2 year warranty.

I know the 6 year rule but its not as easy as just quoting it, from experience.

just want the UK carriers to bring out their prices on tariffs.

The Samsung Note 8 is £62.00 PM with £49.99 upfront. So £1,537.99

The cost sim free is £859.00

Based on this iPhone X will be approx £49.99 upfront and £68.00 PM, or total £1681.99 !!! eye watering.

All PM are 24 months.

If face ID had issues or failed with me, I’d kick up such a stink with Apple in their store they’d swap me back to a 8+ just to get rid of me!

Hoping that O2 will pick up the Apple Watch later on. I think they said it would be coming to other carriers later on during the keynote.

I need a new Apple Watch because the battery life on my series 0 has become irratic and unreliable.

I currently have the rose gold 7 plus so it will be a nice change.

I really did like the silver/white combo. It will be my first white phone in a few years, the last one was the 6.

I do hope the glass is as scratch resistant as they say, don’t think I’d want to put a case on this beauty. Can’t be anywhere near as bad as the jet black!

The price is locked for 14 days but they have in the past at least always let you extend it by a week when you get close to the deadline

Here we go again then guys... Hello fellow UK people! :D This is going to be a LONG pre order thread seeing as iPhone X pre orders aren't until end of October!!
