Wait envirofone have locked your price for 21 days?? I sold last Thursday and they emailed me today reminding me that the price is locked for 14 days. I was thinking about doing what you said buying the 8 then returning it near the very end of the refund period as to save time and money in case i wanted to go for the X. Still undecided but times ticking.

Well officially they've locked it in for 14 days. But you get an email after around 10 days where they offer to keep the quoted price for a further 7 days to help you make up your mind.

I feel bad buying and then returning, but to be honest, with the games Apple are playing with the UK pricing, I'm going to do it anyway.

Is applecare even worth it?
I honestly don’t know anymore. I can just add my phone to my home insurance and the excess I’ll pay is cheaper. As someone else said, consumer law is pretty good in the UK anyway so it does render it a bit useless. Again, I think the price is the real sticking point. It’s way too high.

Stop talking about Brexit all the time.
In Germany the 64GB version is 1149 Euros which equates to 1030£.

Quick one: I am going to the US/Florida late November. Is it worth waiting and buying the iPhone there?

No, it converts to £902 including the VAT.

Then adjust it if and when it needs to be adjusted. Don't rip us off and charge us a load extra in case it does drop lower one day.

It should of been £919 or £949 at most not as you said swapping the $ for a £

I think will go for the iphone 8 plus 256gb. Now question do I get it through apple iPhone payment or o2 refresh. Descions descions look l.

I’ll play around with an 8 at the airport or at an Apple Store in October and see where I cancel or return my preorder.

The Samsung Note 8 is £62.00 PM with £49.99 upfront. So £1,537.99

The cost sim free is £859.00

Based on this iPhone X will be approx £49.99 upfront and £68.00 PM, or total £1681.99 !!! eye watering.

All PM are 24 months.

I think that's optimistic... that said, given how horrible and over priced the data plans are with new phones like iPhone's and Galaxy phones, you'd be better off getting the phone through Apple and picking up a cheap sim deal. You'll pay around the same amount but get a much better deal.

I am not going to complain about the starting price. At the end of the day Apple can charge what they want, and it is the customer's decision if they pay it. No one is forcing anyone to buy an iPhone X for £999+

Also, we all knew and expected the price to be in this region - and from a positioning point it has to be, as otherwise no one would buy the 8/8+. As is evident from this thread, the higher price will mean some people will opt for those handsets instead.

Also - not sure if anyone has picked up on this, but iPad prices have also increased. There is now the same £150 increment from 64GB to 256GB (was previously £80).

Is it possible to request a specific delivery date when preordering? I'll be on vacation from late October until mid November.

On the other hand maybe it's better to wait a few minutes until the delivery window drops to 2-3 weeks and place the order in that moment...

I think for the 256 iPhone 8+ and the same sized X, is like £200 difference... idk why anyone would choose an 8 bar supply issues

Do eBay even allow auctions for items the seller doesn't own yet?

Looks like it yeah and the thing is how can they even guarantee to get one to sell.

The 8 looks dated now imho.

Because for most people considering an upgrade, they will be going from c£45-50 per month (iPhone 6S/7) to c£70-80 - and that wont be affordable. The 8 offers something in the middle - and is better than nothing!!

I think sometimes also us Apple geeks think everyone thinks like us and wants the latest and greatest (whatever the cost)....... but in reality the majority of people aren't as bothered!

If I had a 7, I wouldn't upgrade to an 8... chances are if you have a 7 you still have another 12months left on your contract.

IMO the 8 is a guilty as the 7 was at launch of being poor step up. As someone with a 6 that's had it from launch, I look at the 8 and wonder what the point of it is... other than to make the 7 a slightly better deal?
