Yeah it's a massive pain, means I can't set it up the iPhone at work as the works WiFi is shocking. I think you can restore if the iPhone has a higher version but not lower than whats on iCloud.

I hope I can use iOS’ transfer mechanism

If you sign up to my DPD you can request a delivery between 9:30 and 14:30 missing rush hour and school times this is for my iPhone ordered on the app

Ooh, how do you do that exactly? I've got the app, but no option for that in there. Would be handy as I do have school runs to do.

EDIT / Scrub that, I've just found the setting under my address details. No guarantee they will honour it, but worth a go. Thanks! :D

That’s actually a pain in the rear, unless iOS 11 can transfer without requiring both to be on the same exact version

I’m sure for the iPhone 7, when starting up for the first time last year, it ran the iOS update to the latest version before it did the transfer of the data from the latest backup.

This was the backup that I did to iTunes just before...

What a the latest time tonight an order with Apple would change from preparing for dispatch to dispatched if it was due tomorrow?

All these orders moving up and the delivery estimates on Apples own site cutting by a fortnight, are we looking at below expectation sales or better stock or manufacturing levels all of a sudden?

My case was shipped by UPS a day or so ago and it changed status in the middle of the evening between 8 and 10.

My iUP upgrade that was showing as "arrives by 2 December" has updated to "arrives by 18 November" at some point today - at least it's now a date in November!

Will still see if I can reserve one sooner than that when the page comes back on Saturday morning, but a two week wait is a lot better than four.

No real way of knowing but most likely they are confident of a ramp up in production volumes coming through.

All these delivery dates coming forward, and the Apple Store decreasing it's lead time, yet the 13-20 November orders don't seem to be moving

From experience, it tends to be fairly similar each year. I think it’s a combination of cancellations; improved production and also Apple maintaining a “feel good” factor in customers who get a surprise bump up.

I'd say they'll move in the next couple of days. If they moved now or today, then they would have just been launch day stock. Tomorrow means delivery on Monday still.

I'm signing up to the iPhone Upgrade Programme tomorrow. Instructions say you need to provide your address for the last three years. Those of you that have signed up previously, did you need to bring proof of address to the store or just give them the address? Thanks!
