Don’t recall seeing anyone being successful with walk in stock since launch day
From my experience they don't even bother checking. On the one occasion a friendly staff member actually checked stock for me but every other time I've just got the "No, check online at 6am".
The same thing almost happened at JL last night. The first staff member said "Oh maybe, I'll check" and then another member chimed in and straight said "No, none", and then they actually did have some when they checked so I'd say half the time the staff aren't even aware if stock is in or not.

That's a shame, it still doesn't sound hopeful. Don't really want to head down if there hasn't been much luck since launch day.

istocknow shows a JL near me has 5 but I called up their phone support earlier and they said none were in stock anywhere. Wondering if I should head there instead.

If I were you and had the time to go check I would, and if they don't even check when you get there maybe ask them kindly to go double check as you thought they had stock. Hopefully you'll have some luck!

It's a bit soul destroying really.

I can take some solace in the fact that I have to get up at 5:40 each morning anyway
[doublepost=1510647804][/doublepost]If anyone is desperate enough, BT mobile have 256GB, both colours, available for delivery tomorrow. Just the minor detail of their tariff ... £250 up front and £65pm (if you're BT customer) for 15GB data and BT Sport Mobile - BUT you do get a £100 Amazon or iTunes voucher, and if you go via Quidco you can get £80 cashback

Still debated doing that, but managed to nab a 64GB space grey (the device I wanted in the first place) from white city!!

I don't know what it was as soon as I saw iPhone X I was instantly drawn to the silver so I guess thats my personal preference. The SG to me definitely feels and looks smaller, it may be the bezel which appears to be a different shade of black/ grey to the notch. I don't know!

I was also drawn to the silver, as was the Mrs, but it was a mixed bag.

From the back the SG looks like an 8 (or even a 7). Others may disagree, but both my wife and I felt the same.

From the front the side bezels appeared a little bigger due to the silver showing on the outside edges. The SG looked more like a monolith with the screen off and the bezels appeared smaller with it on.

Losing the top and bottom bezels is great. But the side bezels really didn’t feel much different to the 6> to me. I think they have to go edge for perception to match their marketing.

Order times mean nothing. There’s a post a few pages prior where I point out a bloke who ordered 30 minutes later than me, got a date 1 week later than me and now has the phone.

I think apple are favouring certain areas when they distribute stock for some reason - which is mad considering they have a queue of orders.

That’s odd as I always thought it was strictly in order time order.

I was told by the Trafford Centre yesterday that no stores have walk-in stock of the iPhone X. Only reservations for iUP and collection of online orders. This will only change I suspect when the backlog has cleared and supply meets demand.

Has payment for anyone's order been taken for confirmations between 8:17-8:20?

My order 8:20 with an expected delivery 24th-1st, Apple website is still showing Order in Progress with no payment taken from credit card.

Last weeks deliveries happened between Wednesday-Friday. Assuming supply is increasing, I would assume a large shipment from China (or wherever) to the UK to come today/tomorrow with phones delivering to us in the later part of this week.

There was a huge influx of phones over the weekend at Apple and third party suppliers, which would likely have come in the same shipment from last week.

Heres me hoping for my phone to come this week!

X 64GB Silver.

This is infuriating. I think someone said it earlier, but they should let you just pre-order for the IUP and let you wait your turn

It seems as if the EU deliveries 20-27 are coming direct from China. The DHL deliveries seem to be notification of the pickup in China and then 4 days later when the phones arrive in Europe ready for the shipment to be broken up ready to be dispersed to the appropriate areas of the EU.

So still possible for the phones to come direct from China for the 3rd wave... Heres hoping that they will arrive by the end of this week for the 24th-01st delivery slot, or the being of next week

Was lucky enough to get my Silver 256gb last Thursday (super-please, just wish the screen was a bit more plus-sized!), but still have my Argos one on order...has anyone actually heard from these guys? Latest update for me is that I've got £50 compensation on file, which I can use as a refund against the handset when it has arrived.

I ordered from Argos too, mine was supposed to be delivered yesterday, so i just called up and the guy told me a load of crap about the phone being delivered directly by Apple and not themselves????!! Also it should be dispatched today or tomorrow??? Again another lie.

I think ill wait till tomorrow then call back and complain to see what they do.

I totally agree. The present system is such a lottery that a lot of people (many sleep deprived) are bound to feel frustrated. It seems such a tediously clunky online process too.

Apple - get your act together!

My nearest store is Leeds, and I've checked all of the past stock alerts, not one single alert for that store or even Meadowhall, Sheffield

Hope you are right. That would mean that mine will come the next week.

If you don’t mind me asking can you remember what time your order went through? Just that I have a nasty feeling that my order was sufficiently late that it will be while yet before they start trying to take the payment for it.

Confirmation email 27/10 08:22

Another 5.58am wake up call with no success, oh well, I'll keep an eye out on the notifications and will try again tomorrow :(.

I feel your pain, as someone else has said previously why they can't allow people to reserve in advance to join the IUP perhaps take a payment as a deposit to stop people from making multiple reservations.

I've given up with the 6am check.
Spoke with Apple today - they've suggested ordering the phone online (paying outright when its dispatched), then take it into a store and have them refund you the money (minus the £70 deposit) and convert to the iUP.
Just one thing - if you do do this, make sure they DO NOT refund the entire amount - it will add the phone back to the store inventory and someone else may end up reserving the phone.

Was for the same colour and size?
