I've given up with the 6am check.
Spoke with Apple today - they've suggested ordering the phone online (paying outright when its dispatched), then take it into a store and have them refund you the money (minus the £70 deposit) and convert to the iUP.
Just one thing - if you do do this, make sure they DO NOT refund the entire amount - it will add the phone back to the store inventory and someone else may end up reserving the phone.

I wish that I was told that when I went into the store and asked initially about joining the upgrade programme. It would have saved me a load of hassle and waking up at 5:55 in the morning!

Dispatched 3-4 Weeks, do I order it now or wait as I'm hoping that I'll be able to pick one from instore by then

I think I'm going to order one and then cancel/return if I end up getting one earlier.

Stock seems to be slow this week, would anyone on the iUP programme currently check how the iUP reserved stock is in London? Thanks!

Bit sad that only London and Birmingham got stock this morning. I don’t know if I can be bothered waking up at 6 each morning for this. Is it really worth it?

Stock does occasionally come in at other times - yesterday there was stock at Covent Garden at 6:31am and 8:02am; on Sunday there was also stock at 1:57pm.

I'm getting these times from https://www.istockcheck.co.uk (my own site), which monitors the stock info and sends notifications to my phone. So far the stock has always vanished before I can get to the payment page though, but it is there briefly!

Only the 64gb SG in Stratford on the iUP. Everything else is “by 13th Dec”

I'd say that this is the best way of grabbing one, I had this site on my laptop and would refresh as often as I could remember, when stock would go live in London I would then speed through the reserve and pickup steps in the apple store app on my phone, slowest bit was putting in my phone number. This was at around 8:30 this morning that white city had SG 64GB, and I guess as people may not pick up their reserved devices these get allocated back for orders, so it's just luck if you get the colour/capacity that you want at a store near you.

Not sure if it's something that has been talked about before, but I didn't go with iUP in store, just paid in full.

Want to join the IUP, but with the reservations how they are now its an impossibility.

Of course any stock on reservation is gone long before there is a chance to sign up.....anybody know how to get around this?
Looking for a 156GB SG at any store in London.....proving to be very difficult.

I upgraded my current iPhone 6s to the new iPhone X 256GB Space Grey within the EE store on Saturday evening. The advisor said I'll have to wait 2-3 weeks until it gets delivered. Literally can't wait! :D

I ordered as an upgrade through EE yesterday, they said 21 days online, but on the phone when I made the order they said probably more like 4 or 5 weeks, now my order tracking says delivery expected 28th-4th, which is 2-3 weeks, so I have no idea what to expect.

Am I right in thinking that any stock that pops up on your website is only available under the iUP and even then can only be reserved by an existing iUP member, except at 6:00am when anyone can apply to reserve one under the scheme (ie join the iUP)?

Like the look of this more than istocknow. Notifications seem a bit hit and miss on there.

I'm going to leave your page open on a PC running 24/7. I've installed the Pushbullet google extension and installed the iphone app. I'm receiving the test messages if I open up the Pushbullet app, but if it's not open I don't get an audible alert to notify me that istockcheck has found something.

Appreciate Pushbullet isn't your app, but any ideas? Notifications are enabled in the iOS settings for the Pushbullet app.

I had that problem for a bit - I found that logging out and back in again (in the app) seemed to fix it.

I think that all the stock that comes up on the site can be reserved by anyone - I didn't code any iUP specific checks actually. I've definitely seen non-iUP available reservations come up after 6am - there was some just a couple of minutes ago in Regent Street actually (I just missed it though!).

Regret regret the silver is so much nicer.
Well I went back to JL and got the silver. It’s beautiful. Two iPhones X purchased so this is my fairwell. It’s been fun. I certainly won’t miss the 6am checks. Good luck to those still waiting!
Although I say I won’t upgrade yearly I’m sure I’ll see you all next year. Thanks to @iStockNow

On istockcheck.co.uk you don't actually need to refresh - it is periodically polling the server in the background :)

Congratulations. Are you an existing iUP member. If not did you have to join the iUP to secure the phone?
Thanks. Much relieved, was getting very frustrated.

I am not an IUP member, just was quick enough clicking through. I understand you don't have to join IUP when you go to pick up your reservation, though I will be joining I think.
