I have locked in a price of £525 with envirophone using the EXTRA5 code. Last year I sold to them and they paid what they quoted, no scratches at all, so I'm hopeful it will be the same this year!

Getting very excited!

Just hope you don't have to wait till October sometime to get your new device

If it turns out next week that the OLED iPhone won't be available until October or later, the deal with Envirofone can always be ditched.

Exactly. Plus, just before the 14 day mark is up, Envirophone usually extend your offer by another 7 days. So I have 21 days from today to make my mind up whether or not to sell at this price.

If it looks like I won't be getting the iPhone X (OLED) until later in the year, I'll just have to take a hit on the price.

After the O2 debacle last year I went on the iUP. Will do the same this year with the X

Yep, used enviro the last 2 years and got quoted price (inc +5%) and had to rely on the 7 day extension.

Glad to see this thread back up!

I’m another one on the iPhone Upgrade Programme hoping for a smooth transition to the iPhone X. Now that the IUP is featured in the Apple Store app, I’m hoping that we’ll be able to reserve through that link on preorder day rather than having to go through the general ‘reserve for pick up in store option’. I’m hoping after the debacle in the US last year, they have some dedicated stock put aside although that’s probabaly wishful thinking!

I’m ok with an October release (but not happy) as long as we can at least reserve one on preorder day.

Either way, it’s going to be stressful on preorder morning. As usual! :)

Oh, give me a follow on Twitter and we can all be in this together. Lol. @Applwatcher

I've always just bought outright and sold my old one, but I'd really prefer to be on the apple upgrade programme.

Thing is, is there any way to do that on pre-order day? or is it some kind of "visit the apple store and hope" some time later?

If the rumour is true and the availability of the iPhone x is pushed to October does that mean those who sign up for AUP will not be eligible to upgrade to the 2018 iPhone as soon as that is made available (assuming if that’s released sept 2018). I’m basing this on the fact that you become eligible for an upgrade on the 11th month of the plan.

Last year you could reserve to pick up on release day. Unlikely that’ll be possible for the iPhone X this year I suspect.

You’d still be able to pay the outstanding payment(s) I think. Depends how far into October (or later) the iPhone X is obtainable.

Why unlikely? I guess it depends if they’ll be launching on same day as other iPhones but if they are, then no reason why they wouldn’t let you reserve for in store pick up.

If supplies are low then it’ll be very difficult to secure one to pick up on release day. Just like last year it was very difficult to get hold of the Jet Black iPhone. So it might be possible to do it, just low chances of being successful.

Difficult but not impossible :)

can't decide whether to go on contract with 3 or start the iUP with Apple

I was on O2 Refresh with my 6s Plus. I suffered the O2 debacle when trying to upgrade so I went with the iUP and stuck on my refresh airtime. Will prob do the same this year.... £30 for 30GB (£35 with £5 loyalty discount)

Nowhere in the program does it say that you're eligible to upgrade by the time the phone is launched (September). It simply says you can upgrade after 11 payments, or 12 months. Whether that 12th month falls in May, September, or December, it doesn't matter. If you got your iPhone X in November and want to upgrade to a newer iPhone next year in September then you'll have to make additional payments to make up for the difference.

Hello again everyone, nice to see this thread once more, exciting time of the year again!!
I’m planning on buying the X (middle storage, assuming there will be 3), and haven’t used the iPhone Upgrade Program before, but given the expected prince range, might be giving it a go this year.
Curious to see more specifics after Tuesday on how to enrol, it would be handy if one can just purchase/pre-order paying the full amount outright, and then go to an Apple Store to sign up for the program, receiving a refund for the original payment after doing so. Has that been possible in the past?
The main question I have, what if come next year I don’t want to upgrade, do I just finish the remaining monthly payments (20/24 months all together? Not sure...), and then the phone actually becomes “mine”?
Thanks in advance for any replies, and enjoy the next few days/weeks!!

I was offered the option to do exactly that when collecting my 7 Plus last year. I declined but it sounded like a straightforward process

When they had problems with the credit application process on release day last year, buying the phone outright & setting up IUP later was their fallback. Not sure if that will be allowed from the start this year. Let’s hope so.

The credit agreement is for the full period so you can continue paying monthly payments until you own the phone outright or can upgrade after the 11th payment.
