They do 20% off if your lucky with a new account.

I'm already a customer. I've noticed before that they tend to exclude Apple products from most offers in any case.

I *think* Very's lock and I know CPW's do, everyone else's come and stay unlocked.

No most remain unlocked but those from Carphone Warehouse (and I think PC World/Currys) do lock to the carrier of the first sim inserted.

This is a bit out of date but explains it
https://kenstechtips.com/index.php/apple-iphone-when-sim-free-doesnt-mean-unlocked

I got my iP 6 from Vodafone and got it unlocked quickly and without fuss for free after my contract ended any way, so I'm not worried about it.

I think all of their plans are 24 months.

They have that yearly upgrade plan attached to it which means I can’t get the 20% off. Here's the price for EE with 8GB Data / 256 8 Plus 24 month for 229.99 upfront / 50.39 p/m or 15 GB Data / 256 8 Plus 24 month £129.99 upfront / £54.39 p/m.

I think from hotukdeals some have got lucky and got 20% off last years new phones but this year who knows.

Personal circumstances.

What's wrong with Very, I've used them for other electricals before?

Am sure last year they let people down on launch day but on fairness they weren't the only retailers (and networks) to do so because of the demand. Lots were expecting stock that they didn't get when they thought they would I was sure that last year they were more expensive than Apple but I could be making that up!

However if you have had good experience with them before am sure you'll be confident ordering again.

Ordered 8+ space grey, 64GB. The intrusive notch on the X put me off too much, as well as the "slow" and unreliable face ID. Maybe the next one :p
[doublepost=1505492588][/doublepost]Is "preparing for dispatch" a good sign? I forget if it changed so soon on my 6+

KGI reckon supply will be constrained until the second half of 18 for the X.
https://9to5mac.com/2017/09/15/kgi-iphone-x-estimates/

one reason I was thinking to buy an 8 just in case. But I cancelled now and I'm going with a crappy refurb 6s in the hope of getting an X quickly. If not then I spend a couple of weeks pressing F5 and then just get an 8

edit: That suggests constrained until 1H18, not 2H18..?

I read that as constrained till 2H18 and from that point on it will be freely available everywhere. I would be shocked iv everyone here wanting the X actually got it theirs on launch day if the supply is that constrained.
[doublepost=1505494130][/doublepost]Just spotted this on the Vodafone website if anyone is with them. So the cost per month will likely be the same as the 8 plus 256gb but you pay more initially upfront.

£74 a month with £100 upfront for 40GB + extra 10GB of 4G data

Whats wrong with Very v other retailer ie John Lewis, Apple, amazon?

Returns
"Packaging
The Very returns policy states that items must be returned in 21 days. The item must not have been used or altered in any way. For items that have some parts missing at purchase, Very offers to send the missing parts or replace the item in entirety. Security tags and original labels that were on the item must also be intact and attached to the item. The customer should also attach a returned goods note on the package."

So once box opened you cant return under Very T&C

Very poor show.

No Very were offering them at the same price as Apple. They advertised having Jet Black iPhones available for launch day but very few people actually got them and most got told they wouldn't actually get them until much later. Of course nobody had more than a small handful of Jet Black for launch.

At the time of pre order? Did the pre order still go through or did you have to place another order?

Probably 30 minutes after placing the order. I received an anti-fraud text from the bank telling me someone (me!) tried to spend £799 on Apple.com, so instructed them to authorise it. Then, about an hour later, I was able to tell Apple to retry the payment through the order page and it went through- it's now preparing for dispatch.

That's not true, if you check the actual policy on their website

https://www.very.co.uk/help/en/online-help-system.page

That only applies to their 28 days approval guarantee scheme where you can return the item if it is unused which is in additional to your normal rights. You have 14 days to return the item if it is opened, they legally have to let you do that under consumer law.

I wish vodafone did unlimited data reason why currently on three uk I use around 200gb each month only paying £22
Some days I use upto 20gb data in one single day.

Wow! how on earth are you using that amount of data Sarah, tethering?
No very easy unlimited setting on Netflix 4g biggest data hogger. (Two films your already used up 3-4gb)
watch youtube on 1080p (2 hours youtube at 1080p 2gb-4gb )
Nowtv on 4g
BBC iplayer over 4g
Spotify premium
Tuneinradio

all adds up that isn't even trying lol doing that everyday 10gb for 30days 300gb this is the many reason I stick to three uk all u can eat upto 1000gb data usage.

I managed to buy one not realising I had to do a different thing to reserve one. I am trying to cancel this. As I have managed to reserve one from IUP which I am hoping will be able to be changed to IP. I am currently on EE sim only £15 a month for 20gb but EE contracts there tarriffs to expensive. Checked o2 refresh too expensive as well.
