i feel bad for you guys in the UK, those prices are insane. But from the looks of it, there's still a **** ton of you who are lining up to buy it at that price. If that's the case, phone prices will definitely never go down lol.
That why they call Great Britain cash cow land of money we already having £1000+ Geforce 2080Ti Graphics cards now.
crazy lol

...”should expect a new iPhone XS at £999, iPhone XS Plus at £1,049”

(Not sure if you’re agreeing with the article or otherwise !)

i was in the camp of the Xs starting at lower than £999 for the 64GB, don't see it being £899 myself, somewhere in-between the two.

the T3 article is the first piece i've seen suggesting no change in the price

Just had an email from envirofone who are offering me £650 for my 256GB X. This is saved for 14 days so it's one way to go.

Not bad as far as current trade in prices go but still a big hit for what’s 10 months use.

Not a bad price. Looking at recently sold on eBay they’ve varied between £500-750 before all the fees!

So with 14% approx in fees it’s really not worth the risk on eBay for marginal gains.
Little disappointing though that envirofone don’t appear to be doing the EXTRA5 add on this year ?

The other things that really pisses me off is I can never order a new iPhone for launch day delivery. I’m always there, a minute before 8 hitting refresh like a mad man and still get 4 to 5 weeks to wait!

Ditto not managed a release day phone in a good few years now. Tried every option and still get the closed store screen!

Nope, also tried a number of other codes on voucher sites but none worked

If I went ahead with this offer can anyone recommend a decent phone for around £100-150 I can buy off Amazon to tide me over until the new iPhones come out?

You’d be better off just locking in a price with envirofone, or whoever, on the morning of the keynote - with 2 weeks you’d have until the 26th to get your phone to them. Trade in prices will fall but I doubt by £100-150 in the next few days.

I seem to remember last year they gave people an extension to the 14 days?

Ebay have had loads of offers for Max selling fees of £1 and £3 lately. Usually run over weekends. Keep an eye out for them

Maybe worth getting a quote whilst logged in and then not going anything, they’ll probably email harass you after

Me too it’s so annoying. I guess it’s luck of the draw as there is so many people hammering the servers, couple of times I’ve had launch day and mostly 1-2 weeks. And I’m hitting refresh at 7.45 onwards!
Maybe this year I’ll have iPad, iPhone and pc all ready for action....

so for the folk are on IUP with an iPhone X, how are you approaching pre-orders?

looking at my account, it shows I'm eligible to upgrade from 10/10 or by paying off up to the 11th payment in store. I've got no issue with this but its the timing and what to do with pre-orders that got me thinking. IIRC that IUP status page gave an option to pick a device and reserve in store? Given that i've not completed all 11 payments yet it looks like the only upgrade option is to go in store which potentially screws up the ability to pre-order next Friday. My guess is that I'd needed to have cleared off all 11 payments in order to use the upgrade screen on the app. I called Apple earlier to see what they said and got put through to a chap in a store (I think). I explained the scenario and he actually realised he was in the same boat, went away for a bit and came back saying that I could go into store and pay the additional remaining payments in order to be 'ready' to upgrade.. I don't know what to make of this so may wonder into store to see.

my back up option is to order the phone outright on pre order day (either in store pick up or delivered) and then do what I did last year in taking it back into store, returning in and signing it back up to IUP. Its not really clear at all how it will all work.. would be great for apple to come out and say...

Is not possible to contact Barclays and make a month's payment?

The chap said it had to be in store, I’d assume you could do it directly too. Given we’re less than a week away from preorders I’m not sure I want to do something that causes confusion during upgrade

I did this last year for the X: my 7 Plus was only about halfway through the first year so I had to make a £200+ payment to settle. It did let me reserve for pick up in store as normal and then I just went into the store and made the payment on pick up day.
