How does one get enrolled in the iUP?
On pre-order day, you pick your phone and pick a store to pick it up from. Then, at the time of payment in store, you say you want to enrol on the Upgrade Programme.

You'll need some photo ID, proof of address, proof of signature etc. From memory, they also ask for employment details. £69 will need to be made as an opening payment.

Can you select a slightly later date, say, a couple of weeks after release day?

Mine seems to just be the cost of the plan, rather than a discount, I think.

I am on a 30GB Max sim only plan which runs out in November. The only discount that shows is a ‘loyalty discount’. Any idea if this will disappear at end of contract??

I've got £650 guaranteed from MusicMagpie for my unlocked 256GB iPhone X until next Saturday - just as well, too. They're now offering £0 for that handset...

If anyone can get a good price from Plunc then I'd highly recommend them. Shame that they couldn't beat MusicMagpie when I was looking to lock in a price.

If you watch this podcast about 10 mins in, they are saying the two OLED models will start at 128gb, and the iphone 9 will start at 64gb. But we will not know for definite until Wednesday.
A 128GB X+ would totally work for me.

I went for a 256 8 Plus as 64 wasn’t enough, but 128 would be perfect for me.

Here’s hoping.

Luckily i added the X to the basket last night, checked out on the trade in basket on music magpie and it still gave £650, The website is now showing £635 which still isn't too bad.
Dont forget to go through Quidco for an extra few quid.

:cool::apple::apple:

This thread is gonna explode wide open come Wednesday 6pm!!!!

SOOOOOooooo many leaks it's ridiculous: from the size of the phones, to the colours, to the names - there really is nothing new to learn!!!!!:rolleyes::p

Hello all! Nearly that time again! So I'll be looking to trade my 8 in to upgrade as I buy cash each year. Skipped the X as I was skint, regret it massively so this year I'm going all in! Lol

...I'd feel way too guilty slapping one grand on the counter in cash, for a phone, but each to their own!!!

So is everybody set on what model and what size?

Think I will stick with 256GB

I'm still undecided......

Most probably gonna reserve the 'iPhone XS' model and when I get to the store, compare my 8 Plus with this and also against the 'XS Plus' model and then make a decision which one to go for.

I'm pretty sure they'll be tons of stock of each model in the Bromley branch as last year, there was no queues outside whatsoever (there were less than 5 people waiting to enter the store, when the doors opened in the morning)....

From memory, I don't think you can, unfortunately. If you can't collect on that day, you need to wait until the following day to see what allocations are available for that day.

At least for day 1 (unsure about day 2 and beyond), you need to pick a time slot. This is no problem for me as I have the day off, but my wife also wants to enrol on the Upgrade Programme but can't get the day off as she's a teacher. I can't recall whether I can reserve 2x handsets and have different pick-up times for each. Being able to reserve for pick-up the following day would have been perfect.

I’m pretty sure they hold your device for a while if you miss your slot, I was told you can actually come well after your slot. I think they mentioned up to a month if you miss your slot but don’t hold me to that.

If I were you I'd reserve the Xs Plus model. You can already compare your 8+ to the existing X and if when you get the XS Plus, find it too big, it will be easier to find stock for the XS rather than the XS Plus initially after launch

I think you're right, well at least after the launch day then everyone checked stock at 6am you'd only be able to reserve in store for that day.

Hoping IUP upgrades will be smooth otherwise i'm going to have to buy outright the device of choice and then take it in store for a refund/switch to IUP

think that's might have been when you pay in advance and collect.

I am not just keen on expending more than I did last year on the X.

The 64GB storage was sufficient on the X, hence I’d be happy with the X+ base model.

I hope I will not be unpleasantly surprised with the pricing structure.

@Azzin You're on IUP and have made your 11th payment right? what option do you get on the screen on the apple store app? I only see the option for finding a store and assume this is down to me still having a few payments left.

I'm hoping come Friday there's an option to reserve form this screen and pay off any remaining balance (should be 1 payment by then.)

I think i'll be happy either way.

1) the starting storage starts at 128gb so I can go down from the 256gb and save a few quid
2) storage stays the same (64/256/512) but the prices for s Xs are the reported £100 or so cheaper.. i'll with the with 256gb and hopefully save the £5p/m on the IUP cost

I got that screen a few months back, but now, I'm getting this, which you will, as well:

great, thats some solace.. you seem the same screen screen even though you've made your 11th payment. Hopefully means that this screen changes on pre-order morning or there is some other way in to preorder an upgrade for IUP.

...I'm guessing the screen will indeed change to show the new iPhones come pre-order morning. We'll then just select the model to reserve (which is how it worked this time last year, unless I'm mistaken) - hopefully..!!
