My only pain with the IUP is that it’s a fresh credit agreement every year, and I don’t want to have this very new agreement close to mortgage time
[doublepost=1537696316][/doublepost]

Likewise, though I have 24-26 delivery dates
Credit checks are fine if you have lines of credit open.

People think that it’s a bad thing and may look bad for a mortgage, but actually the opposite applies.

The mortgage provider will check the report and see that you’re a good borrower of money and don’t miss payments.

I had a friend who had finance for a tv (many years ago) turned down, because he had actually paid his mortgage off a while back and didn’t have any debt.

One thing I consciously do is use my charge card so that I do have some good credit repayment history. I suppose, though I know some providers dislike new credit lines in the past x months

looks like my Xs is going back, extreme blue tint at anything but head on viewing, and network performance is worse than my X

Anyone else having this come up on the order status checker page? Ordered a cape cod blue leather case for collection today but can't see if it's ready to collect!

That’s a myth.

Credit providers just like to see all green monthly records on your credit.

[doublepost=1537698968][/doublepost]So...

I have an 8 Plus, which I love.

I naturally gravitated towards the XS Max, but now I’m leaning back the other way and thinking the XS will be fine, as other than screen real estate, there’s no real benefit to the Max, and I can have the same size screen as I have now, but in a smaller phone.

I had not noticed that. Just compared them and yes , the Xs is shiny compared to the 8. You live and learn.

I would say thay anyone buying an XS should consider how the phone will look in your general choice of case. I bought the silver edition primarily because the SS bezels look so elegant showing through Apple's leather cases whilst I found that the SG didn't really add anything to the cases and vice versa. The silver looks killer with the forrest green and black leather cases in particular.

As a side note, the 'white' back on the silver is more off-white 'enamel' looking than pure optical white which is just so beautiful and luxurious. Very much recommended!

So even though the Bromley store have no Max size phones they did luckily have stock kept aside for returns etc. Had to go through some of the IUP stuff again (though no additional credit checks) and walked out with a pristine (double checked) max.

They had stock of Xs models no max for new purchases. Only watches they had were gold aluminium with pink sports band.

Credit providers see more than that, they can default information, and utilisation data of credit. I can’t remember too much when I last used Equifax’s API (when I worked for a bank)

Now that I got my iPhone Xs Max & Watch 4 SS on Friday, for me is another waiting time for iPhone XR pre-order to kick start (19th Oct), anyone else also getting the XR?

Agreed, but the problem comes if you decide to exchange on the iUP (colour, defect or capacity). Each new application is another hard credit search and they close and open new accounts each time - which all show for 6 years.

This happened to be when they first launched the programme, I had to exchange with the Jet Black because of defects out of the box and ended up with 3 hard searches and agreements (2 closed, 1 open). I contacted Barclay's who agreed to have the the close accounts removed!

To be honest virgin mobile and 3uk need to take out unlimited data and replace it with a hard limit like 100gb.
Way to many people abusing the service taking the p***.

...surely going in store to swap iPhone colour doesn’t mean another credit check will take place? You’re just changing one colour for another - same device, no?

Defects are not done as a new iUP, they simply swap out the phone.

Or, start charging a premium for those that genuinely “need” those amounts of data.

I’m definitely noticing the reduced battery capacity on my XS compared to my previous 8 Plus. Charged my XS last night and now it’s already down to 76%. My 8 Plus would stay in the 90s on its first day....

I hadn’t thought about that during my recent leans to an XS, instead of a Max...

It actually does because they have to return the device you want to exchange via the iUP process. They tick exchange within the application and it runs another hard search, closes the old application and opens up another one.

This is why Barclay's agreed to remove all entries other than the active account.

They do, but you have to have fill out the iUP on the terminal if you are within 14 days and swapping for a new retail unit.

I did this, and that's what they made me do.

Those that are still waiting for phones should just check local stores if possible. I got mine by reserving Saturday morning. Beats waiting for the postman.
