Yes but you missed the point about eye strain due to PWM. The new models have the same issue as last years X. If this doesn’t affect you then yes the XS Max is obviously the better phone.

Until you watch a video or read text

...don’t watch video on my XS - have an iPad Air 2 for that.

Out of curiosity, do any of you guys face WiFi or 3/4G signal deterioration? There are growing concerns in this forum that the Xs (esp Max) have antenna performance issues. Mine, in comparison to the X was slightly worst at first but now over time slightly better.

Funnily enough, I’m having signal problems but I assumed that it was because I’ve switched networks (from O2 to EE). I’d expected faster data speeds but I’m getting speeds that are a lot slower. EE are looking into it

DPD now confirm they have the phone. On it’s way to Nottingham, to be delivered tomorrow.
For those interested ~ It’s an XS Max 256GB Space Grey 24th-01Oct.
So, delivery at the very beginning of the delivery date range.

It’s good to see that Apple continue with their policy of under promising and over delivering.

Enjoy the Max!

I thought I was going crazy on Friday with my Max... 4g stopped working randomly a few times, I had to disable the connection to make it work again. Didn’t have any problems yesterday though, been on Wi-fi all day today. I’ll keep an eye on it

How’s it a downgrade apart from the screen? Eye strain is enough of a reason to get rid anyway
Selling my iPhone X.

Just upgraded my sim only plan with EE to iPhone 8 Plus 256gb red 60GB max plan, £30 upfront £49.40 a month. Not too bad, works out at £15.2 for the sim

I did the same with my X - sold it and went to the 8+, love it and will be a while before I (inevitably) move to a Face ID/crap gesture world. I’ll hold out for at least another year, maybe more.

Quick Q, If I settle the iUP does Barclays automatically cancel the AppleCare for me and deduct from remaining balance or do I need to call Apple first?

Thanks

If you settle with Barclays you’ll of also paid off the AppleCare so you then need to contact Apple for a refund if whatever’s left of the AC+.

The 7 Plus SHOULD indeed have a better battery than the X as it’s a bigger phone and has a bigger battery.

It stands to reason that the XS will have a better battery though cos it’s a bigger phone.

I know I made the correct decision in downsizing from my 8 Plus to the XS.

The XS has a larger screen than the 8 Plus (when measured diagonally from corner to corner) and using the smaller sized phone is a joy to use and is so much more pocketable than the huge 8 Plus / XS Max. One handed use also is just great as opposed to two handed use on the 8 Plus.

;)

I ordered the iPhone 8 Plus last September before purchasing the iPhone X (which I've since sold and ended up with the 8) and found the battery life on the X to be about the same as the Plus; that was with Automatic Brightness enabled too.

I upgraded with EE to the 256gb Max 100GB Max £70.40 a month. Works out about £17 for the 100gb max plan and no upfront.

I've left EE as they offered me ridiculous deals for the xs max 256GB.

Went to three and got 100GB for £20 and paying the phone through very. Works out the same as your deal.

One thing ive noticed is the reception isn’t as good as it was on my 7 Plus. In work I’ve gone from about 4 bars 4G to 2 bars 4G.

I just did a speedtest test on my XS here in the office where I am getting 2-3 bars on 4G. I'm based in Cannon Street City of London (EC4N) and on EE.

Download I'm getting around 34Mbs and Upload I'm getting around 13Mbs - don't actually know if this is good or not?!!

What tempered glass screen protectors have you guys bought?

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07H3777ZS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

bought this, and it came damaged, very bad

I bought Belkin one whilst I was in store collecting my XS - the Apple dudes installed it there and then using a machine which resulted in a 100% bubble free perfect install.

I’m going for the 40, but can settle for Alu until mine arrives

After a few days with the 44, when I was in the apple store yesterday I compared mine by side with the 40... wow did it look small in comparison.

‘Moral of my story’... you get use to the size very quickly and I wouldn’t give up the screen space for anything now

Am wearing my S3 whilst the S4 in on charge

Keeps my circles circulating, and also I use an app that monitors my sleep. Turns that red wine is not good for deep sleep but is very good (bad) for keeping the pulse over 70. Normally is 50 to 55 whilst sleeping with no alcohol

So yes, the S3 does now look small, the fonts... Makes me think I might need some glasses>

I absolutely love everything about the XS Max. Size and weight.

And I can use it one handed to a certain extent so I must have huge hands compared to most :D

Can’t put the thing down!!!

I’m having those expected doubts! Being properly indecisive!

Had the Max caseless all weekend and now I’ve slapped on for the work and its noticeably for me added to the bulk.
