You might be better off going to the Genius Bar, they'll likely be able to offer more technical support than EE can offer.

Thanks yeah I agree with you. My local Apple store is nearly 30 miles away unfortunately there and back and I am just out of hospital with a bad infection and recovering so can't get there at the moment. The EE store is only a few miles away but I will end up having to book a genius bar appointment if I don't get anywhere today.

Something definitely isn’t right with your phone.
Best advice I can give is try a a complete restore on iTunes where it loads a fresh os if it doesn’t improve give apple support a call or download the apple support app.

It covers the whole area of the phone. There is about 1mm between the edge of the protector and the edge of the Apple leather case I have on it. It also perfectly follows the 'Notch' area of the iPhone XS.

It looks just like this:

View attachment 787881

This is the exact one : https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/produ...visiglass-ultra-screen-protector-for-iphone-x

It has naff reviews but worked great for my 8 Plus so went for it again on my XS.
Thanks.

It’s been fine on my 8+, i was just concerned about having an equivalent sized gap around the edge of it on an XSM.

Anyone having slower d/load speeds on home wifi - Reset Networks worked for me, returned it to the usual speeds.
In other news - NatWest have released an update which includes fixing the faceid issue, it’s back as an option now once you update the app.

Cheshire, United Kingdom.
Anyone having signal problems on 3uk same place same location phone next to each other.
iPhone X 64GB Space Grey 3uk 4-5 bars signal never had a call drop out.
iPhone XS Max 64GB Space Grey 3uk 1-2 bars signal calls always drop out.
Something not right here.
I suspect that there is something in what you say, but will Apple acknowledge another Antenna Gate?

By the way, are you holding it right? :D

Looks like slowly but surely people are starting to notice the reception issue with the Xs. It fluctuates a lot. I still have my X by the side and it holds the signal better. Definitely not iOS 12 related.

I'm seeing the same signal bars (2 to 3 bars on 4G) when compared to my old 8 Plus so personally, I'm not getting any signal issues.....

That's pretty much what I get (see bold figures above) on EE, on 4G sitting inside an office (EC4N area). Seems normal.

Strange... Mine was dispatched yesterday with a estimated delivery date the 8th of October.
14 days from China to Europe? They could have send it with a pigeon faster than that.

Quick update after using the XS Max on my hols & for those still undecided.

I went from the X to the XS Max and, whilst I appreciated the easier form factor of the X, I appreciate the screen size & battery length more on the XS Max.

The screen real estate is just phenomenal all in the size of about the 8 Plus. Movies, YouTube, camera videos all look awesome. Both the X & Max are fast, smooth & slick. I think it’s worth noting with the Max your getting a lot more screen than the 8 Plus in a similar size.

Compared to the X, yes you do know your carrying a bigger iPhone but it’s still manageable & does not feel unwieldy.
Also re. weight of the Max I’ve had no probs holding it for a long period of time.

Battery is much much better than my X. Lasts for significantly longer than my X did before requiring a recharge.

I also have the new (too expensive!) 30W USB-C adapter which charges the Max from zero to 100% in just over 1 hour. By any standard, that’s extremely rapid fast charging!

New cameras features make for really impressive photos that look similar to pro photos without doing much post-photo enhancing or adjustments.

I have an official Apple black leather case on & it adds a small amount of extra bulk but not much. I’ve carried it up a mountain, around town & on the beach, pool etc. No issues for me in the pocket or holding it walking etc.

Decision for me will come down to memory management over the next 14 days - I’ve got only 64GB in my Max compared to 256GB in my X due to more iCloud use.

Lastly, I’ve got an Orzly glass tempered screen protector on that cost only a fiver to include two protectors & pretty decent flexi-case. The protector leaves just over 1mm around the edge but allows enough room for the official leather case. No issues so far. Feels really smooth like the screen etc.

One tip, I always apply the screen protector immediately right after taking the Apple plastic protection off out the box which results in a 100% bubble-free application.

So, in all, I’m really loving the XS Max experience!

I did the same think, applied straight after unboxing. Used these.

I can’t remember what sort of numbers I was getting on my 8 Plus, but got this on Saturday evening in a busy city centre on my XS with EE. Very impressive.

Music Magpie have upped their offer for the iPhone X a bit, so worth checking and placing a new order if you've not sent it off yet.

How did you think you were going to prove you were who you were claiming to be, without photo I.D?
Surely me having the receipt /my bank card ,and dealing with the same person who sold me the phone the day before would be enough !!

So what’s the new deal?

Whatever they quote, you get another 10% on top with the "Tech10" voucher code upon checkout.

Do you know how long you have to send your device to music magpie?

2 weeks from the date of confirming the order. Make sure they receive your goods on a weekday, as they don't properly process on a Saturday and will delay until Monday.

Good point, because I’m sure they didn’t have many people buying iPhones on the launch day of the new iPhones right?

There are laws in place to protect consumers and employees, it’s not reasonable to expect someone who probably saw thousands of customers 24 hours earlier to vouch for you when you’re borrowing over a £1000.

The onus was on you to check what was needed, not anyone else and saying that ”no one told me I’d need a photo I.D” just screams immaturity and an inability to take responsibility for your own actions (a widespread problem today unfortunately).

Had a disaster of a day trying to buy an XS in the Reading Store.

Firstly yesterday their network was down so were unable to sell anything to the public.
So I bought an XS at 6am this morning online for collection at 10am.

All was going well until it came to trade in my S9 Plus phone ... Despite Apple's own website accepting the IMEI number and serial number , their own systems in store are out of sync and more importantly way out of date. Basically the in store system said my phone didn't exist but their own website did find by the IMEI.

So they refused to give a trade in value for it despite their own website listing a £385 trade in. He said the website offer is technically a separate company but they are supppsed to be aligned to the in-store trade ins. I hate eBay and other post your phone sites having been scammed previously.

Spoke to the manager who agreed it was insane but all they could do was ask for my phone's IMEI to be added to the in store database which might take days to a week and a half. Yep... I had to leave empty handed or pay full price for the phone. They simply wouldn't accept the trade in despite Apple's own website offering £385 !!

In the meantime , the phone I bought but was unable to collect is sat at the store (up to 21 days) whilst the mess get a sorted out or I can just cancel the order.

My plan at this point is to phone on Saturday and ask if it's in the database yet. If it is , ok but if not will probably just cancel as I'm not convinced it will get added.

Manager said I'm not then first this has happened to either. Basically they don't honour the trade in you see on the website...

Now I'm reading that the XS and Max might have antenna problems and weak signal issues....

You can simply trade it in at Carphone Warehouse (or a carrier store like Vodafone or O2). I traded in my iPhone X and got paid the next day.

I was about to suggest this.

I did it a couple of years ago, I played Game and CPW off against each other to get a better price.

Hand phone in, put debit card in reader, receive funds next day.

Whilst I would never buy a phone or contract from CPW, this was a quick and painless exercise.
