Ah damn it! Just got my XS up and running, and the one app I NEED doesn't work!

Thanks, definitely not holding my breath! Was going to send my 8+ to Music Magpie yesterday but restored it and put the HSBC apps back onto it. Grrrr!
The HSBC app has now been updated and works perfectly. I've transferred my code generation and can now wipe my old phone.

Something definitely isn’t right with your phone.
Best advice I can give is try a a complete restore on iTunes where it loads a fresh os if it doesn’t improve give apple support a call or download the apple support app.
Replaced the phone today at my local apple store same issue this is going back tomorrow for a refund something definitely not right here the genius bar staff was shocked we reset the iphone to brand new tried my old sim card terrible speeds with only 1-2 signal bars.
Move my sim card back to my iPhone X speed back to normal and signal bars showing 4-5.
Not taking any chances with this will wait out.

Yep, saw the facebook post this afternoon. Updated and good to go now, really enjoying the XS so far from my 7+, and I haven't even had chance to use the camera yet!

Good point, because I’m sure they didn’t have many people buying iPhones on the launch day of the new iPhones right?

There are laws in place to protect consumers and employees, it’s not reasonable to expect someone who probably saw thousands of customers 24 hours earlier to vouch for you when you’re borrowing over a £1000.

The onus was on you to check what was needed, not anyone else and saying that ”no one told me I’d need a photo I.D” just screams immaturity and an inability to take responsibility for your own actions (a widespread problem today unfortunately).
Let’s get things straight here ,I was not borrowing any money at all ,I was there for an exchange .
Apple support were fully aware the phone was bought via the IPhone payments plan ,as was the lady from the store I spoke to before going to the store ,nobody mentioned any Id being needed ,and why would it ,it was an exchange ,I had the phone ,the receipt ,and my debit card .
So before you start getting all high and mighty with me ,get your facts right ,you really don’t have a clue do you !

Just joined EE and will be moving from Three! The lovely lady on the phone offered to honour one of the sim only deals they had on site last week but has since expired. Can't wait to be able to actually use 4G!!

I was unaware that even to swap out a damaged phone on IUP (for the same model) it would have to be back through the whole Barclays process again. I’ve not seen it written anyway, even in the small print nor was it mentioned by apple staff (not that I asked them). I luckily keep my driving licence on me so was all ok, but annoying for you!

Just came back from Regent Street and was rejected for the iUP even though I have already got my current X on the iUP and my situation hasn’t changed at all from last year. 999 credit score on Experian. Feels a bit crap. I’ll call Barclays tomorrow but I don’t think they’ll help. Meh...

Wow. That sounds bad.
I see the story has hit theverge.com now too.

I've read some saying that either restarting the phone and resetting network settings could help sometimes but it will happen again.

Seriously contemplating cancelling my XS order at the moment now as really don't want to be dealing with this.

Too many people saying they have issues now.

Mines going back tomorrow not paying £1099 to reset network settings for faster speed and signal.

Had a disaster of a day trying to buy an XS in the Reading Store.

Firstly yesterday their network was down so were unable to sell anything to the public.
So I bought an XS at 6am this morning online for collection at 10am.

All was going well until it came to trade in my S9 Plus phone ... Despite Apple's own website accepting the IMEI number and serial number , their own systems in store are out of sync and more importantly way out of date. Basically the in store system said my phone didn't exist but their own website did find by the IMEI.

So they refused to give a trade in value for it despite their own website listing a £385 trade in. He said the website offer is technically a separate company but they are supppsed to be aligned to the in-store trade ins. I hate eBay and other post your phone sites having been scammed previously.

Spoke to the manager who agreed it was insane but all they could do was ask for my phone's IMEI to be added to the in store database which might take days to a week and a half. Yep... I had to leave empty handed or pay full price for the phone. They simply wouldn't accept the trade in despite Apple's own website offering £385 !!

In the meantime , the phone I bought but was unable to collect is sat at the store (up to 21 days) whilst the mess get a sorted out or I can just cancel the order.

My plan at this point is to phone on Saturday and ask if it's in the database yet. If it is , ok but if not will probably just cancel as I'm not convinced it will get added.

Manager said I'm not then first this has happened to either. Basically they don't honour the trade in you see on the website...

Now I'm reading that the XS and Max might have antenna problems and weak signal issues....
As others have said, a trade in to Carphone Warehouse is painless and usually on par with the top trade in places.

I like CPW because you don't need to hand in the box & accessories like with CEX / eBay, there's no fees, it's usually better price than CeX, and you do it all in store so no mail-in fuss to deal with. And the price is always better than Apple would give you.

These speed tests/problems that people are on about. You're talking about cellular speeds right?

Something isn't right about my signal too only on 1 bar reception hardly goes to 2 or 3 bars.
iPhone 8 on full bars at the moment.

Given the number of these report speed issues and many more in the state, I’d like to think it’s something apple will be able to address quickly. Something I’ll be be keeping a keen eye on!

I thinking about cancelling my contract what the point paying this amount each month with drop calls and signal problems.
And going back to my old iPhone 8 for another year.
