Hi,
Just to let people know I got charged my monthly payment for my iPhone 8+ today, despite being on the IUP and giving the phone back to Apple on Friday. I haven’t received an email from Barclays confirming the end of that loan so I will contact them today. Might be worth others checking to see if they haven’t had an extra £43.95 taken from their bank accounts!

Probably taken a few days for the money to clear from apple to Barclays. It will just end up being in credit by your monthly amount and they’ll refund you. Annoying though

Same thing has happened to me!
I've just checked my bank account and Barclays have blimmi charged me today £43.95 which is the old figure for my iPhone 8 Plus on my previous IUP??????:mad::mad:

This is even though I received an email from Apple on the 21st Sept stating that by handing in my 8 Plus has paid off the outstanding £395 on my account?! They are blimmin crooks..........:mad:

...ok, panic over!!!:oops::oops:

Just called them and it seems because the new loan was taken out on the 21st for the XS, and everything happened over the weekend, the systems couldn't process the 8+ £395 pay off hence the extra payment today for £43.95.

They also stated that a refund has already been processed and I should get it back before the end of this week.
[doublepost=1537864107][/doublepost]A couple of iPhone XS questions though.....

1. Every morning when I turn my XS on, I get the message on the screen about having to enter my passcode before FAec ID can work. Does this happen every time I turn the phone off and then back on?

2. I have my 'Do Not Disturb' set for 9pm to 7am every day. Everytime this activates, I get the message on the screen saying something like 'Calls and texts will be silenced 7am tomorrow' or something like that. I'm getting this EVERY single time this activates? I already know what 'Do Not Disturb' does - why am I getting this message all the time (I never got it on my 8+ despite using the same do not disturb times)?

I’ve got two IUPs active at the moment as I’ve not cancelled my X as I’m paying that off myself once magpie show me the money.

Given I started with a damaged Max and then downsized back to an Xs all on IUP, I’ve have to go through the IUP process 3 times since Friday ( have to do the ID and whole IUP process even for an exchange). I’ve had no issues thankfully

Wow

You must be well known in your local Apple store ;)

1. Yup. You do have to verify when you turn the phone back on

2. This seems to be an iOS feature of some sorts.

You switch off ( completely power down) your phone every night? If so, just you need your passcode to re-enable Face ID

1. Yes if it’s been powered down. It was the same with finger Id.

2. Why do you have do not disturb on if you are switching off your iPhone at night?
You should be able to change the notification in the notifications setting.

I never turn my iPhone off or use DND for that matter.

...I don't see the point in keeping my phone ON, during the night, whilst I am asleep, but thats just me!!
Never heard anyone do this before! Overnight while charging and connected to WiFi is when phones tend to download updates and backup stuff to iCloud. Plus being contactable in an emergency. Surely having DND on is good enough if you’re just not wanting to be woken up by useless notifications during the night?

...I actually turn it off to save battery power more than anything else. I'm not one of these people who charge my phone every night, no matter what %age the battery is on.

....and to those saying about being contactable in an emergency, my house phone is right next to my bed and is the first port of call in an emergency over my mobile. Maybe I'm just weird..!!!

Even having a house phone these days makes you weird! We still have one as my wife is in the house pretty much 24/7 and rarely uses her pay as you go mobile.

I’m on call out if our work alarm goes off, so I keep my phone on. I get very few unwanted calls or messages, as I’m very protective of my mobile number. Only giving it out if absolutely necessary. In fact that’s another good reason to have a landline!
