anyone on EE used the annual upgrade plan to upgrade before 12 months (such as got the original X and now getting the XS Max)? Did they let you upgrade early or do you have to wait the 12 months? Considering an annual upgrade on EE although the prices for the new contracts are shocking!

...I actually turn it off to save battery power more than anything else. I'm not one of these people who charge my phone every night, no matter what %age the battery is on.

....and to those saying about being contactable in an emergency, my house phone is right next to my bed and is the first port of call in an emergency over my mobile. Maybe I'm just weird..!!!

I think you’ll find that if you turn Airplane mode On (and making sure that WiFi and Bluetooth are both Off) before going to bed, the overnight battery drain will be minimal, and that way in the morning when you turn Airplane mode Off you won’t have to put your passcode in to allow FaceID to work.

Fair enough. I personally don’t see why anyone wouldn’t charge every night (unless you’re in the wilderness or something!), and it’s been made even easier with wireless chargers, but each to their own.

Hello, Guys I can confirm two iPhone XS Max here with only 1 bar signal speeds showing around 4.45mb
iPhone X 256GB With 4 bars signal speeds showing around 61.34mb.
Anyone from the UK having the same iPhone speed/signal issues at the moment.
Two brand new Max phones all setup brand new no iCloud/iTunes restore.
I dismissed this when I first heard about it but I take it all back, there is absolutely a massive issue with cellular reception on this phone. Was out today cycling (in a pretty rural area to be fair) but at multiple points my old X (given to my wife) had 4 bars of signal and I had no service. Rebooting / toggling airplane mode made no difference. If you can’t use it as a phone / you get no data connection it’s kind of useless. Big disappointment given how good the rest of the hardware is. Seriously considering going back to my old X: problem is I am away for rest of this week and next so will be out of the return window before I get back. Anyone know whether if I action a return on the last day of the window I still have a few days to actually get it back to them?

Edit: yes, you have 14d after actioning a return to actually return the product. So, will wait and see what happens with this by middle of next week & if no fix will return.

Hi,
Just to let people know I got charged my monthly payment for my iPhone 8+ today, despite being on the IUP and giving the phone back to Apple on Friday. I haven’t received an email from Barclays confirming the end of that loan so I will contact them today. Might be worth others checking to see if they haven’t had an extra £43.95 taken from their bank accounts!

I've had the exact same thing and I've just spoken to Barclays who assure me that a refund has already been processed. Cheeky gits taking it in the first place though!

I called up Three today to get my PAC code... should have booked half day off work the amount of time it took them.

They offered me 30gb for £15 a month (unlimited mins and texts). Starting to wonder if I've made the right decision... on EE I'm getting 20gb for £16 a month (although I'll never use this much a month)...

EE in terms of signal, and coverage beat 3, and I say that as someone who is on 3. I'm moving as soon as my current sim contract ends in January.

I have that deal with 3 right now. Unless you’re planning to go roaming abroad, I would stick to EE!

I have o2 pac code since yesterday -can't re cycle until my i phone 8 is unlocked -now over 24 hrs.
Hoping it's unlocked in time to get guaranteed £375 from music magpie -if not I could incur an expensive cost.
I have settled on the idea of using Andriod 8/Sony xa2 for a week or two until Xs is despatched.
Have considered recycling 8 anyway -though o2 mention there could be some final unlatching steps .
Anyone care to mention this risks of recycling i phone 8 when unlocking has been requested before receiving confirmation.
The unlock is considerably higher re cycle payment though I only have maybe 2-3 days more to send to music magpie

So when will we be able to walk into an Apple store and buy one?

Depending on where you are, some stores get regular stock every day, I'm just unfortunate that the one store I go to, don't have the colour I want.

Music magpie seems to increase their prices a little yesterday, plus the tech10 code you can just do another order now and get 14 days again

Looks like Space Grey might just pip Gold for most popular colour, generally. Silver definitely in 3rd place.
That’s just from casual observation of the Store App.
I would have thought Silver would be more popular than Space Grey but appears not.

I've been going back and forth on colour, finally landed on Space Grey rather than Silver, seems like Space Grey is the more popular one.

SG is stunning in the larger form factor for sure. I also like the silver but the band straches if you look it it, though it can be policed easily.
