I must admit the camera is amazing on this phone. The screen is really clear too, but I just cant justify the price increase to £93 a month
My price didnt go up per month but the plan is over 3 years. It actually works out £5 a month cheaper. I will pay it off well before the 3 years as I’ve not seen out a contract since 2012. I’ve always paid them off well before the end to upgrade. I’m getting 100GB if data this time and last time I only had 30GB.

Coming from a 6s Plus I’m still not too sure if I’ll keep this Xs. Yes it’s nice having a bigger screen/body ratio and better camera, but I don’t think I’m going to be doing anything spectacular on it to justify the price.

Buyers remorse here

So I was supposed to be picking up my max from my local O2 store today but there was a mess up and it hasn’t been delivered. I spoke to O2 on the phone and they are now going to deliver it to my home tomorrow and have upgraded me to delivery before 10.30 am. So I have to wait another day.

Just ordered an iPhone XS Max SG 256, now I have to wait till 4th to 11th October for delivery...gonna be a long wait for me!

Anyone else here with a similar delivery date timeframe?

The screen on my Xs was worse than my X

there is a freely available promo code online which gives you 20% of most EE tariffs
[doublepost=1537957675][/doublepost]Does anyone know if an iPhone bought from Apple Hong Kong will work perfectly in the UK?

I know some of the LTE bands might be different - but so keen for a version with 2 physical sim slots.

Would there be any issues?

The code no longer works apparently....but anyway, it has to be used online, but I couldn't upgrade online without paying off remainder of contract as I was still in contract

Have done some more homework.

Only the XS MAX sold in Hong Kong has the physical dual sim slot. its the A2104 model.

The only difference between this A2104 and the UK/EU version (A2101) is that the A2101 has LTE band 28, and the A2104 has LTE band 71. All other bands are exactly the same.

Its also £170-£200 cheaper in Hong Kong.

Are you getting it posted? If so you might pay custom fees, if someone's bringing it over for you then go you!

Depends on how you look at it...it’s what a few nights out a month. Depends how much usage you get out of it. EE will always charge high for their speeds and being an upgrade anytime plan will always be high for this reason

Exactly it all depends on what you spend your money on. Some like going out drinking or spending it on designer handbags and clothes. I use my phone everyday and even though I have iPads and a MacBook it’s my main computer.

Very true

People think I’m mad when I say spend so much on tech but no different to what they spend on different things

I’m with Vodafone, just did a speed test check of my 4G signal today and got:

170mbps download speed
47.7mpbs upload speed

That’s pretty fast so no probs with using Voda network.

At my parents I’m getting

90MB download and 6.3 upload

Least mine seems quickly on my max than my x

All the London stores seem to have stock to reserve and collect today for that model

I wonder if Vodafone network is related to location, my speed test was based in central London.

Where I live out in the sticks it’s notoriously slower.

Not personally noticed any speed changes going from the X to the XS Max but that website report on the antenna reception is kind of disconcerting.

Yeah I guess it’s selfish for me to say least mine is ok but the issue is there and I hope those suffering get it fixed via software update.

If it’s a hardware issue then it’s a far bigger problem

appreciate some help on the options for buying from apple with instalments

- do they still do the payments plan, i.e. the one where apple care isn't tied in? I can't find it on the website as none of the financing options mentioned are interest free
- for the iphone upgrade program is it possible to pay a larger deposit? Or pay a lump sum at any time to reduce the monthly payments and/or shorten the term? I would sell my note 8 so will have £350 which I would want to add towards the new iphone but not sure if this is possible on iUP?

Couple of question for those who know:

1. Does Preparing For Dispatch mean they've assigned a device to my order or that they're in the process of doing that?

2. How long does Preparing For Dispatch usually take?

Yes, iPhone Payments is still available. 20 month interest free loan with a £69 upfront payment and no AppleCare requirements. No upgrade option after 11 payments, though you can pay off the balance at any time to close the account and the phone is 100% yours. Making additional payments will only reduce the term and not the on-going monthly amounts.

The same is largely true for the Upgrade Programme, except you get the upgrade option after 11 payments and you must take out AppleCare (also spread out over the total term). If you cancel AppleCare before upgrading or the total term, you basically get bumped to iPhone Payments and also lose your ability to upgrade early.

Many on here have found you're better off selling the phone and using the funds to pay off the balance to close the account, getting some money back on top rather than simply handing the phone back to Apple at upgrade time. Depends on how much faffing you're happy to put up with.
