Think I'm gonna go with a Spigen Crystal Clear case for mine from Amazon.
Good protection and will show the yellow through it :)

Although they're a bit annoying in how they get beat up pretty fast and end up looking smudgy and scratched before long.

4.5 hours after launch only the 64 min yellow and coral have slipped.. and only be a few days.

No demand?
Plenty of stock?
A little of the above two maybe?

So I started with an XS Max in Gold, too big for my liking so returned it for an XS and now I feel this is too small. Pre-ordered an XR for iUP next Friday as I believe it will be the perfect size. Only drawback I’m hearing is camera and I don’t really use that a whole lot so not too bothered at all

I suspect elements of the following:

Diehard fans have already plumped for the XS, Max or last year's X, thus lesser demand from the traditional early adopters.

Plenty of stock, as Apple will have had plenty of time to gear up towards this. It's been Angela Arhendts' (head of retail) mission to get rid of the queues outside stores by giving people ample opportunity to order day 1 delivery.

Mostly everybody else will just wait for their upgrade cycle to come around. Two friends of mine went and bought new iPhones 7 and 8 in late August because their contracts were up or they desperately wanted a new phone, despite me telling them to switch to SIM only plans and wait until September for the announcements. They weren't bothered and were just happy to have a newer iPhone than their outgoing models (5S and 6S).

Found a case for my new XR. Can anyone recommend a good brand for screen protectors?
Care to share which?

I've mostly used MediaDevil protectors always liked them, tried cheapo and never been happy with them.

Tempted with the Belkin one in Apple wheey they fit it, as long as not a glass type as don't like those

I’ve got one for my gold max. It’s good protection and feels nice in the hand.

The max was back ordered for longer at launch but we’ve not seen anything like previous years.

I had a Mediadevil screen protector on my 6S for 3 Years and it lasted fine.

I always used media devil. When I got the 8 I got the Belkin fitted and it lasted a year before it needed replacing. So I ordered the media devil. IMHO it’s every bit as good as the belkin. Thin. Zero bubbles. Crystal clear and zero fingerprints.

I’d say save yourself £20 and get the media devil one.
[doublepost=1539963799][/doublepost]I’m so so tempted to order the blue 64gb for delivery next week but I really should go and see the size.

My second phone is a Mi A1 which looks wise is basically a copy of the 6/7/8 plus models. With the 6.5” screen and the more I use that the more I think the 8 screen is small. But I think the Mi A1 is too big because of the bezels. I really should go and see the Xr physically but it’s so so tempting not to wait and just order it.

Will be interesting to see what the screen is like on the XR.

Having looked at my old 7 Plus the other day after getting my XS Max, im not sure i could use LCD again :O

Ordered a 128GB Red this morning (9am ish) on Three as an upgrade, but got a November delivery date.

I see I can pre-order for a new one still has 'delivery' for 26 Oct.

Will the new contracts delivery dates drop back or will mine jump forward? I'm a bit lazy, so can't really be bothered to order a new one, cancel my existing contract and then swap things that way.

I don't think I have paid anything. I had to give my card details but that was just to reserve the phone. I imagine that if I don't show up on the day then nothing happens and the phone goes back into stock...
Ordered a Product RED XR 128GB for in-store pick up on the 26th at the Norwich store.:) Had to enter my card details at checkout so I don't know if the money will just be taken from the account or if I'll be paying in-store.
They take money on dispatch to the store. When you go to the store you will be collecting as they would have already taken the money out a couple days before.

That's good to know. When I pre-ordered my 6S at launch the Apple online store didn't ask for my card details and I paid when I picked the phone up.

So i have pre-ordered from Apple for two phones. Cant decide whether i should keep ones from Apple or order from John Lewis next week as i get 5% off through my work. 'confused'

Definitely JL, I don’t think stock will be difficult. You could just cancel the Apple ones if you can bag JL ones next week.

I think I’ll just order direct from apple in future much smoother process if you need to return.

My first Xs max I returned due to various issues but as well realised if your paying over a grand for a phone I may as well pony up for more storage so returned the 64GB to apple, got an received the refunded email the next day, and purchased the 256gb from Currys.

Got the one from Currys and it had sharp edges at the back so give it a few days to see if I could live with it, dropped them an email with pictures stating I wanted a refund, no response.

Phoned up the next day and spoke to someone who setup a refund, and said it would be picked up the following Tuesday. Monday came and no email so I rang them, apparently the person who I spoke to forgot to set up the courier, so they did it and I got an email saying DPD would pick it up the next day. That was Tuesday, rang them twice and although it had been delivered it’s still sitting in the warehouse waiting to be scanned. I’ve been advised to wait till next Tuesday and if I’ve not heard anything give them a ring again.

It’s not a huge issue, but when apples processes are that streamlined and efficient you expect the same from other companies.

Brought my third max from apple as the stocks better now, it arrived Wednesday and couldn’t be happier with this one.

Soo ,eventually picked up a 2nd XS yesterday from Apple ,and this one is like night and day over the one I returned ,the screen is great ,connectivity is great ,job done !

Looks like yellow 128GB has now also slipped in delivery so no longer available for launch day in UK.
Yellow the most popular colour or least manufactured? Who knows.

Glad I got my order in though!

They do all look mighty fine. IMHO, they're probably the best looking iPhones ever. However, all that glass does make me feel nervous.

I read an article regarding a case Apple was making for the xr, it’s meant to be a clear case yet I see nothing in the store .

Does any one have any information on these cases

Ordered a red 128gb last night for delivery on 26th...

After last year I said to myself I wouldn’t order on launch day again, so many problems with uneven screens on the 8 and 8 plus I eventually gave up and went back to my 6s.

Hoping they have managed to get some proper quality control this time but not that hopeful reading all the posts about dodgy XS screens!
