I'm still preparing dispatch too.
Never ordered an iPhone before and had it stay on that for this long. Hopefully we get the notifications soon.

Praying for DPD and not UK Mail. Worst company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with!

EDIT -

I lied. Just checked and it is dispatched. With DPD!
Yay!!

U.K.
Give android a go.

Few years ago I thought I’m sick of paying all this money for iPhones when I can get an android for a quarter of the price.

I spent the entire time I had it trying to set it up like my iPhone. In the end I thought why am I doing this. Went back to the iPhone.

End of the day if you don’t like it you can switch back.

I perhaps should have said I also own an S7, so know Android inside out. I think the thing I get fed up with with Android is the low 2 years OS support.

My experience with UK Mail?
Well I live on a new build estate - I say 'new' but it's been built for 18 months now.

I ordered some clothes from ASOS and chose next day delivery.
UK Mail dispatched it and I had the usual texts and emails to say it was on its way.

I tracked delivery and I was stop 24. He was on stop 22. Checked 2 mins later and suddenly the tracking stopped and had disappeared. Called them - automated line. Tweeted them, they didn't reply. Emailed them - didn't reply.

I needed the clothes for an event the same evening. I thought, maybe it's disappeared as I'm the next delivery. 3 hours passed, nothing.
So I had to go into town and spend £100 on a suit for the evening.

They told me they were delivering it again the next day (didn't need it at this point) and didn't deliver the day they should as they couldn't find my house. It's available on both Google and Apple maps by the way. I advised I wouldn't be home the next day as I was back in work. They said tough, we will deliver anyway. I asked if they could deliver to my mums (still in same town) - they said no.

Gets home the next day. No delivery, no note through door. Contacted them again they said driver couldn't find my house (the driver didn't make contact with me which DPD did the first time they couldn't find me and I directed them - but that was prior to it being registered on Apple / Google Maps).
So I said ok what exactly do I do now. She said the driver has taken the parcel back to your nearest depot in Runcorn. 50 minutes drive from my house. I was told I was free to collect it from there at my leisure.

Ok. An item I no longer need, 50 minutes drive away. I raised a complaint on the website which took me ages to write, and got no response back. That was 5 weeks ago.

UK Mail are a joke. Not once throughout this episode on Twitter (where I had to communicate with them) did they apologise. They're absolutely the worst company going. Just behind BT. :)

Anyone have any experience with Argos and launch day orders over the years?

From what I’ve seen they seem to have messed up orders with every release since they started selling the iPhone.

Why would you even be dealing direct with them after you no longer want the items?

Just take the complaint to ASOS and tell them as they didn’t deliver as promised you want a refund (you don’t even need to give them a reason under the new distance selling consumer protection).

I had no issues with UK Mail delivering my XS Max last month.

And you do get an hour delivery window just like DPD which is handy.

That’s exactly what I did. And they obliged. After I had to go through the 2 x “delivery” attempt. I use the word attempt loosely.

Has anyone had any further shipping info with DPD?
Mine shows it was received at Stoke depot at like 2am but nothing since. Normally there’s a “loaded onto van” note but there’s nothing which concerns me a bit...!

Ahh I hate launch day delivery anxiety!

I don’t usually get an update with DPD until about 10 am on the day of delivery. Sometimes as late as 10.30. Before then it will just say received at Dagenham depot.

Interesting. These couriers tend to vary wildly from person to person! Thanks.
[doublepost=1540542527][/doublepost]It’s awfully quiet in here for a launch morning...
Where the UK XR-orderers at?!

So, it was a race against time for my wife and I whether we would get our baby or iPhone XR first.

Currently, we have neither, but we are in the hospital awaiting delivery! Will collect the XR next week sometime.
Ooh good luck. Did the baby decide to come on time after all.
