Not to mention the eye watering prices...
Silly me for buying into the rumours about Apple slashing their prices. Couldn’t reall have been further from the truth.

I remember when it used to be considered a lot to pay £40-50/month for a contract phone. Now asking us to pay £70-80+, it’s just absurd.

I know I will get the max 256GB

But I shouldn’t these prices are shocking

Note 9 £200 cheaper..wtf

Note 9 512GB same price as max 64GB
I really wish you hadn’t brought attention to this. Makes me question my sanity for even contemplating forking out for the 256GB MAX

Part of the explanation is 20% VAT I think. US prices don’t include sales tax.

Nevertheless, Apple is an extremely greedy corporation. It’s our fault really for paying what they demand.

Additionally the pound has weakened against the dollar over the last few years (and is expected to continue to weaken unless there is additional clarity around Brexit). Current 1 pound only buys 1.29 dollars (2 years ago it was closer to 1.5).

If you're in the UK, you should expect the difference between USD and GBP prices to continue to increase in the near term :(

Going with the 64gb XS in Space Grey.

Guessing there will be cheap Spigen Cases this year like previous years, anyone seen anything yet?

To be honest the prices are disappointing. However ive been saving a little every month for the last 3 or 4 months to pay for it and its £50 under what I had saved.
And i really cant be bothered with yearly upgrades anymore so im coming from a 7 Plus 128GB to a Xs Max 256GB so its a obvious upgrade for me.

If the price is roughly the same in 2 years then I think the Xs Max will become my first phone in which ive had for 3 years lol.

£1449 with Apple Care. Ouch!

I do have Apple Care on my 7 Plus which I have never used, and do have cover with my bank, but the ease of just going down to your local apple store to get a problem sorted is to much to resist.

Still the same 5w charger and they’ve stopped producing the 3.5mm adapter too.

I was all exciting thinking the first video with the last using hey Siri with her AirPods was a teaser for an update... oops me

Actually this doesn’t account for the price differential.

£1200 is $1565, even with all sales taxes imposed a 256GB Max won’t cost anywhere near $1565 in the US.

Indeed. My over estimated first post prices are bang on.

The max looks too big for everyday use for me. Still have 31 hours or so to change my mind!
As an X owner the only way I’d upgrade would be to the larger Max as I can’t see any reason to get the Xs. But not sure I want to go back to that size. Arrhgh decisions!

I guess you’re not on IUP? I may as well upgrade as I’ll be paying the same amount

Brb... just going to track the airplane ;)

Seriously though, I’m stuck on what colour to go for.
SG, Silver and Gold all look lovely on the Xs.

Apple offering £550 for an X 256, envirofone down to £610.

Apple have the cheek to only offer £195 for my series 3 watch, £100 Les than envirofone

Looks like I’m sitting this one out. Not enough new features to justify that price esp when the new model comes out next year. Got an appointment with Apple at Stratford tomorrow for a battery replacement for my 7+ which should tick me over for another year.

I quit the IUP as it always comes out as a loan from Barclays on your credit file, better off paying outright or getting an upgrade from your carrier where it shows as a DD instead.

Difficult one for me. Currently have an X, the XS isn’t a justified upgrade at all. I had been looking at the Max due to the smaller X/XS having a relatively narrow screen for 16:9 video among other things, but I feel the Max may be too far the other way in terms of size. It is wider than a Note 9 and about the same height !

Just can’t imagine going back to Android, and the XR spec drop is too much although the screen size is about perfect.

Why couldn’t they just make the Max a little bit smaller !

Not sure where to post this, but does anyone know if the iPhone X tariffs will go down in price once the new models are released?

It will be interesting to see if there are any deals to sell off the remaining stock as the x has been discontinued.
