Remember that you may be out doing your upgrade when they try to deliver your watch! I'm going to get my watch delivered to my other half's work just in case (if I get one that is)
Do we not think we'll be able to pre order for collection in store (regarding watches)?
That's what I'm hoping for!

Has it been confirmed yet whether you can reserve and then not pay till you pick up?

I don’t understand people complaining about this upgrade btw. S versions have always been speed upgrades, and always made a huge difference at the end of the day, performance wise. iPhone X is still going to be a great phone, so they were 5 and 6 when 5s and 6s were released... but I’ve never regretted upgrading to an S version and I’m sure this time will be no different. The new A12 is a bomb, can’t wait to have one!

No, don't think that's ever been the case?

Damn! I might pre order for delivery and try and pick one up in store as well, not sure UPS will deliver to a neighbour!
I guess I could wait an extra day for a redelivery attempt, but where's the fun in that! Also, I'll be here seeing all you guys with your new shiny toys! :(

The iPhone X cases from last year will fit

I was hoping to get an iPhone X Apple Leather Case via the Apple Store app, as they had a bigger colour range than the new iPhone XS leather cases but it now seems, there are no longer any 'iPhone X' leather cases on the store even though the case for the X and XS is essentially, exactly the same... :(

Looks like I'll have to get one off Amazon instead.

Although, that 'Cape Cod Blue case:

upload_2018-9-13_9-32-19.png

....looks VERY similar to last year's Cosmos Blue so may just end up getting that one. I only like blue coloured cases and the Midnight Blue us far too dark......

The XS Folio case at £99:

...A RIGHT ROYAL RIPP OFF :eek::mad:

Does anyone remember the best way to reserve an iPhone for the upgrade program? I can’t remember how I reserved my X last year!

Through the app, tomorrow morning, should we go to account > iup and through that way, checking eligibility etc,

Or should we put the model we want in our bag and then will there be an option for iup in the checkout?

Thanks for anyone’s help!

...I can't remember the process either! :oops::rolleyes:

Do we add to bag first and then reserve whilst going through the 'Check Out' option, OR will there be a 'Reserve' option, come 08:01 tomorrow morning?

...yes, thats how the IUP works, you reserve an 'upgrade time slot' via the Apple Store App and choose which new phone you want to reserve (think its a maximum of 2 devices) and you then you go in store and sort out payments, unless, of course, you are buying outright, in which case, I guess you would just add the item to your 'Bag' and check out and pay via the app, and then arrange delivery.

Yes but the Three handsets will support two sim cards in the slot
You can't be so sure. Is it written in black and white? Could be some agent who doesn't know what he's/she's talking about.

It says clearly on the Apple website, the dual-sim slot is only available in China, Hong Kong and Macau markets.

So until this confirmed by Three, in an article or in the XS product page by them, don't believe it and EE are the only supported carrier with dual-SIM.

But I'll be doing the iPhone Payments , rather than the IUP. Not sure if it'll be the same.

I didn’t get to watch it all as my kids were getting cranky right around the time the iPhone was announced. So I’m going to watch it again today and see if there is anything worth upgrading for apart from the screen size. I already have a 256GB X so can’t even use the storage as an excuse to upgrade because although I would get the 512GB I’m good with 256GB and have about 100GB to spare. If there were more compelling features then I could over look the price but at the moment I haven’t seen any. I’ll probably still get the max anyway as a Christmas present to myself lol as much as I’m moaning now.

Thing for me is I actually like the smaller size, holding the mrs iPhone 6s Plus feels so massive.

I’ve always had the plus before but that was because it had the most features. This time round specs are identical I believe just a bigger screen..

..it is still the same. You'll reserve via the app (pick a time slot) and then when you go in store, they will ask you how you want to pay - full price up front, IUP or IP. Thats what happened to me last year when I went through this process.

I'm umming and ahhing about how to do things tomorrow morning.

I want to get the 44mm Series 4 silver stainless steel watch with sport band, but I also want to upgrade my iPhone on iUP.

Do we reckon I should reserve the phone first then order the Watch, or vice versa? Want both on launch day but I'm torn!

Haha ditto, favouring the watch and then will try the IUP upgrade route. I’m hoping the demand for the Xs won’t too high

Hey all!

Well I’m very disappointed to be honest!!

Last year the X was a no brainier for me. This year as someone who pays outright I really can’t justify the cost for such minor features.

Gutted!

Oh and I only bought a Milanese loop watch 2 months ago!!!! So can’t even upgrade to the newer watch :(

I don’t know about you guys but I find that the Apple keynotes get more and more boring every year? Blabbing on about so much guff says to me it’s a minor upgrade at best.

Losing the thrill for the yearly Apple gear, I didn’t even watch it last night

They really were padding it out with all the environmental waffle and THREE game demos!

Yeah I've decided to do the same really. I'm more hyped about the watch than the XS Max, in reality if I don't get the phone on launch I'll cope as my current X isn't really a huge step back from it other than the screen size.

Can anyone remember when Curry's etc have them up for sale ?

Ok sure they’ll have stock for release but not sure if they’ll be doing any preorders etc. Similar to John Lewis I think who just open the doors on their site on release day

The Apple stores should still have stock of the old X cases on the shelves. I bought one of the spring-summer colours for the 7 Plus last year a few days prior to 8 Plus launch, and only afterwards were they made unavailable.

Third parties like John Lewis are still selling the X specific cases, too.

Sorry that this is not strictly on topic but can someone give me a quick run down of the advantages of the stainless steel watch over the aluminium one?
I think the gap is narrowing tbh. Both will have the same sapphire/ceramic back now and the same storage. The real difference will come down to durability (of both the screen and case). Some say the screen on the aluminium is brighter and less prone to glare, but unless you’re comparing side by side you’re probably not going to notice
