Made my 11th payment on my X over the phone with Barclays yesterday so I’m all ready for preorders on Friday!

It’s still not showing on my iUP page in the app but I’m hoping it will update by Friday morning.
has your additional payment shown up yet on your account in the apple store?

I made mine yesterday over the phone too and its still not updated.

Deffo mixed feeling about this years phones.

I’m coming from a 7 Plus and feel the XS is a good upgrade, also my partner has a 5S so she will be getting my 7 Plus.

Most of the polls show less people are going for the smaller XS so hoping if I get that in Black there will be enough Stock to receive on launch day

They are currently running a live stream and they have confirmed it 3 or 4 times and have been checking with off camera staff and still confirming dual slots,
It's the same people. They could have made a mistake. Apple themselves did this before talking live, saying something but it was wrong.

Until it's written on Three's website, or on a press release that Three will have dual-sim slot, it's not believable at this point. I believe Apple more than Three since Apple are the ones supplying the iPhones and know their product, not Three.

And Apple has written, only China, Hong Kong and Macau markets have the dual-SIM slot. They didn't also write UK or "unless there is an exception."

I'd still assume they have it wrong. Apple were very explicit that dual physical sims was only for certain territories (China was mentioned in keynote).

great if not but

AirPods surely coming next month. Missed it originally in the keynote but briefcase lady definitely used “hey siri”
hope so, I've been holding out for months not buying a pair waiting for an upgrade.

I stand to be corrected, but I don't even think stores had stock of the new watches from day one.
I know it's slightly different but I picked my series 3 up on launch day – in Palm Springs (US).
So here's to hoping!

I know the first gen (Series 0) definitely weren't available in store on launch day, can't remember what I did with series 2... I think I had that delivered.

I’m dubious about ordering on the Apple upgrade programme. I just feel it’ll take longer to order (more steps to complete the order) rather than ordering to buy outright.

Someone said (somewhere) that they bought outright, took it back to Apple. Got a refund then bought it back on the upgrade programme? Anyone know anything about this?
You just reserve he device at your choice of store and time. There’s not many steps to it. Did it last year (albeit upgrading from 7 to 8+, not an X) and it was simple.

Can you remember which route you took through the app?

I.e. did you go through the regular way of buying outright and choosing reservation for IUP when you got to checkout, or did you go through the IUP bit under your account?

I think I used a link to a website for my 7plus to X.

I made my payment a couple of weeks ago and it took a few days to update on the apple app, hopefully by tomorrow yours has updated!

Not only that, but look at Apple's support pages.

So let's say I got a Max with dual-SIM slot, and I'm a rookie. How can I use it? There are two pages. Either:

Learn about Dual SIM with your iPhone Xs or iPhone Xs Max
- or-
Learn about Dual SIM with iPhone Xs Max in China, Hong Kong, and Macau

As a rookie, I'll most likely choose the first option since I'm not in China, HK or Macau. And it has the wrong instructions for me.

Apple would have to update their pages, if Three UK - the only non China/HK/Macau carrier in the world that supplies the dual-SIM slot iPhones.

Right....
Curve ball....

Mrs has a 6s plus I have an X

Do I look at iup and get the new one, me and her go half’s on payments and she gets my X?

She’s not fussed about latest and greatest....

Her idea not mine. Only worry is credit check, my score is not terrible and all bills are paid on time but heard they’re really fussy?

...if you got your X on the IUP, you'll have to hand it back in in order to upgrade.

Gotta love iPhone payments. Find it cheeky how its hidden on the website unless you know about it, under financing section you only get the offer of the standard 14.9% APR option.

The last two years (iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8 Plus) my process has been this and worked perfectly.

Morning of launch, lock in Trade-In value at mizuma mobile - this year was about £120 more than what was left on balance of the phone with Barclays iPhone Payments plan. Friday morning reserve phone for pickup next Friday. Walk into store, start new iPhone Payments plan, pay the £69. Swap sim over, send old phone in to mizuma, get the cash, phone Barclays and pay off old plan. £50 in my pocket and a new phone...

Yep I'm surprised I haven't seen more people talking about it. Works out better for me than the IUP as I don't want to upgrade every year.

Hi guys! Rare poster but avid reader so good to see so many familiar faces/names!
Can anyone remember approximately what time people started getting access to the Apple Store via web (and within that whether people had earliest access on Safari, Chrome, Firefox or Explorer)? The world and his dog now knows that the Apple Store App is/was the best route, although I felt that's becoming less and less as more people have learned that.

The reason I'm asking is we've all received quite short notice this year for some huuuuge spend. I can probably manage paying directly through my current account, but would probably appreciate using Paypal Credit (or PayPal Installments) which is NOT available through the App.

Thanks and Good Luck people!

Knowing 3 they will probably have neither come launch day :D

It’s ok I’ve bought outright :) this time.

But I want to get on the programme, wanted to last year but never got round to it!

So effectively I will have to just take a driving license in and give it a go I guess?

I actually had more success through a browser last year and managed to bag a launch day X. Just remember to clear your cache between refreshes as it can look like it’s still down if not.

I’d also recommend marking your options as favourites today and familiarising yourself with the checkout process

No it hasn’t yet either. My iUP page does state I can come back tomorrow morning and make a reservation so even if it hasn’t come through we should still be able to make the order.

Has anyone ever made the reservation/pre-order in the Apple Store app whilst jailbroken? My current iPhone X is jailbroken, but don't want anything to come in the way tomorrow morning haha

Isn’t this just the same as iup? The only difference being that the monthly iup includes the cost of Apple Care and instead of calling Mizuma on month 12 to get a price and selling to them, you just Upgrade and Apple pays off the remaining balance on the loan with Barclays?

...you don't have to upgrade every year on the IUP. If you choose not to upgrade, then you just continue to pay the monthly payments until the full sum is paid off - the same as the IP program.

Details of all payment methods can be found on page 1 of this thread:

...I found the Apple Store App as being the best route last year to reserving a phone and time slot for pick up. I'll be commuting to work tomorrow morning at 08:01 so that will be my only option anyway!

I went from a 7plus to the X last September and whilst I love the X, the hit on screen size and battery really bothered me. I can’t wait to get the Max now.

I know the X screen is technically larger but the thinner aspect makes it feel different.

Just wanted to share that with you in case the larger screen is important to you.

....but the actual screen size of the X is indeed larger than the 7 Plus and 8 Plus so not sure what you are meaning...?!

Hi everyone!

So the last couple of years I have had the same issue on order day (as I think have many others)........ when ordering using Apple pay through the App, everything has processed, but then at a later point the payment has failed and Apple have emailed me to request me to validate the payment details. This then doesn't work and I have to call Apple to remove the 'Apple Pay' transaction and process the card payment over phone. Fortunately neither time has this impacted my delivery date.

According to my bank, they have not blocked any of these transactions.

Anyone know if any way to prevent this from happening again?

Thanks!
