Didn't expect to see the thread so soon tbh. Good to see a few familiar names from last year's thread. Leaning towards not upgrading this year but after last years 8 Plus/X indecision who the hell knows?

Looks like Music Magpie are currently offering up the trade best price outside of eBay and also worth noting that the previously tried and tested 'EXTRA5' isn't working at envirofone. Not sure if permanent or temporary, I thought this was actually always in place.

Anyway...Will see what happens in the coming weeks. May/may not be along for the ride but will follow the thread either way as it never fails to entertain

Last year I bought the iPhone 8 on release, then missed the dual camera system so sold it a month later and bought the iPhone 8 Plus, then remembered I hated the size so sold that and bought the iPhone X

Hoping this year I'll settle on my first choice.

Yes, started early this year! Been a little quiet on the rumour front so far but we’ll have the keynote invitations out this week so that will peak the interest levels

Can you pre-order and select in store pickup? Can't deal with ups and failed delivery attempts

I'm seriously considering whether to go from my current iPhone 8 Plus to the current iPhone X (I'm looking for something a touch smaller) and let the "S" year pass.

I'm getting the impression that for the 5.8" IPX the most we'll see change is the CPU and minor camera improvements.

Thoughts?

My initial thought is why would get the current X vs the new X?

....because it’s smaller.

I’m in the same boat - currently have the 8 Plus and really don’t want anything bigger. The current X size is the perfect size so if this year’s phones are any bigger, I’ll be going with the current X model.

For me the current X is definitely a better size too. It's a nice trade between phone size and screen real estate. There is no way of knowing exactly what Apple will announce but my feeling is that the current X might turn out to be the best for me.

Oh, I thought the X and the Xs - for want of a better name, were going to be the same size?

They are but it’s generally assumed there’s also going to be a XS “Plus” with a 6.5 inch screen compared to 5.8 inch X. Then there’s the 6.1 LCD phone, who knows what they intend calling that.

For me being on IUP makes it a no brainer. If the cost price comes down so would the monthly payment if I carry on the new handset on IUP. Even if it’s the same price, my monthly cost doesn’t change so taking the upgrade works both ways

The rumour mill has been proven to be pretty much accurate based on the last 4 years or so worth of leaks. With a supply chain do vast it’s near on impossible to stop information from disseminating out.

Seems set that the ‘Xs’ will be the current X with the A12 and better camera, the ‘Xs+’ supersizes that into a 6.5” form and the LCD ‘iPhone 9’ will be late

Pretty boring really but expected as it’s not a ‘supercycle’ year as such

:)

Hope everyone finds the iPhone Xplus boring....so preorders can be peaceful for once.
