November will be most expensive month for me

2nd November order iPhone X plus with my annual upgrade
No doubt order air power, series 4 and iPad Pro with Face ID
18th November propose to my girlfriend on her birthday

Busy month lol

It’s going to be a busy month for me as well. :)

September for me;
iPhone X plus x 2
Apple Watch s4 x2
AirPower x3
AirPods wireless charging case for AirPods x3
IPad Pro 11 or 13
And
MacBook Pro 15

Funny thing is all the iOS devices and accessories will cost less than the MacBook Pro.

Good luck on the 18th.

3 Air power? Guessing for at home and office?

Even more expensive for you then.

I’m still not sure on to get 256GB or 512GB for iPhone And iPad

2 for the home and one for traveling.

I don’t think I need it for the office, have a belkin on my desk it charges an iPhone while I’m on the other.

I have been waiting for a 1tb iPhone for a while now... so 512gb is a no brainer for me.

Just depends on how much you use.
4K video will take up space though.

Positively surprised to see this thread appear again so soon! Also, nice to see familiar names from the last couple of years!

My wife and I are expecting our first little'un in mid-October, so we're both very keen to upgrade for any camera spec upgrades in the pipeline to facilitate the hundreds, if not thousands of photos we'll be taking. As a former camera enthusiast, it's pleasing that we'll likely have the same camera system on the larger and smaller iPhone X replacements - the main reason I went for the Plus size phones over the past couple of years. I'm ready to regain some pocket space!

Hoping the storage sizes become 128, 256 and 512GB. My 7 Plus was 128GB, which was perfect for my needs. Was forced to jump up to 256GB for the 8 Plus because 64GB was far too little.

I'll be paying via the iPhone Upgrade Programme, which as of today says I'm eligible for upgrade with no early penalties. Wife will be paying outright via me as a proxy, as she'll be in work whilst I pick them up is the plan.

OP.. Thanks for a very comprehensive and easy to follow precis as the lead-in post to this thread. Well done. In Australia, I'm thinking of found the 6.5" model in lowest capacity.

I have about 90 GB left on both at the moment do 256GB is likely enough storage to be fair

Should I pre-order from the desktop store, or mobile app?
Historically the app is has been more stable when pre-orders first start, compared to the desktop store. Honestly I've never had much luck in the last few years of ordering to get the first batch of phones.. I've given up trying to guess!
Just reading through the (extremely informative) first post. For the longest time the app would've been the place to go for me no question. Until last year... when EVERYTHING changed! Might seem an exaggeration but it's as if all tech sites/YouTubers felt compelled to disclose the App was a long tried and tested solution and the best way to secure a phone. So naturally it got hammered on preorder day. Turns out the website was much more reliable last year.

I had multiple devices on the app, website, different browsers etc.. all took an age to open up. I’m sure some people had a deep link bookmarked which seemed to be working too. Can’t bare reading through last years posts!

Based on the rumours it seems likely preorders will be on Friday 14th September with availability on 21st September. I'm on the IUP, but will be out of the country for the long weekend of the launch, not back until the Tuesday. Can anyone remember from last year whether it was possible, on preorder day, to book an IUP appointment for _after_ launch day? Or am I going to be stuck waiting perhaps several weeks after launch for stock to become available? :(

Am I imagining this or was it possible last year to basically pre-select your choice of phone, storage, etc and save it to your basket? That way, on pre-order day, you could simply checkout with a few clicks without having to go through the choices?

I don’t think you could. Unless I am wrong, the new phones didn’t appear in the store app or website until they reopened the store for preorders

You should be able to select your combo as a 'favourite' some time between keynote and preorder time. Can't save straight to your basket, however heading to favourites should save a few valuable seconds/clicks. Also useful if you're preordering multiple products such as Watch, AirPod case, AirPower etc at the same time.

That's what I was thinking of - thanks!

I had good success with the app last year and previous, though I still had access to a desktop browser just in case.

What's the consensus on best buy-in place of late? I've used Envirofone and O2 Recycle in the past, though Envirofone typically had the edge, courtesy of the promo codes that do the rounds for an extra few percent on the buy-in price.

Can personally vouch for Music Magpie. Had very good experiences in the past and they're very competitive on price. That said, I took a bit of a risk and went with eBay last year thanks to their £1 selling fee offer. These offers seem to happen every 2 or 3 weeks these days so worth a look if you're feeling brave

I just checked the Apple app and it now says I’m eligible for an upgrade (iUP).

I made the 11th payment last week, buts it’s taken a few days for the app to reflect that.

I’m hoping Apple will make it simple for those of us on the iUP already to make the move to a new phone (8+ to X+ for me).

...exactly the same for me too! Not sure what the £69 up front fee is for though?

How much do you pay on the IUP I’m looking to use it for the first time on a Xs plus depending on price.

I’m trying to figure out the best way to spread the cost so any suggestions would be appreciated
