Ok, so just in case this helps anyone else who took out the IUP this time last year, with Barclays....

I just received an email from Barclays (customerservice@correspondence.barclayspartner), stating that in order to upgrade, to whichever phone you have chosen this year, you will also require your 'Barclays Partner Finance Loan ID' which was obviously contained in my email, which also showed the remaining balance of my existing loan (£395.55).

I'm guessing the Apple Store will need this to wipe the slate clean, when you hand back your existing phones in order to upgrade to the new ones.

I've ordered the iPhone Xs Max in gold 256GB this year. Can't wait! Must admit I'm more excited about the watch though. I've left that for now and will upgrade in a month or three.

I also used up my free 6 months in June. So come Black Friday or so , I ‘d renew my sim only deal for another 12mths with all the bells & whistles including the 6 mths free Apple Music if on offer.
Yeah, unfortunately you won’t get the free 6 months next time round. It’s a once-per-customer offer.

Managed to upgrade to the iPhone XS 256GB Space Grey, £70/m, £10 upfront, 100GB Data with EE.

For those who ordered with EE, when you track your order, what does it show? Mine just says awaiting confirmation.

£70 a month???!!! o_O:eek:

That's extortionate......!!!

Yea, I'm doing the same thing - I want to see them up close and personal (when I collect my XS) in the store before I put in an order.

Did you get an order confirmation email? I didn't get one for my upgrade. Oh well!

...check your Spam folder as my confirm last year, was sitting in Spam until someone on here suggested to have a look!

Nope - others did. But I'm not too worried as it all has been confirmed in the app and they've taken the money from my bank account and applied it to my bill as credit.

Whelp, first post since 2012 (iPhone 5 launch thread )... having skipped the past few generations of iPhones, I have a quick question:

Do Apple Stores generally run out of stock of the new phones on launch day? If so, how quickly do they run out? I’m specifically talking about Norwich, so not the biggest/busiest Apple Store in the world. Do I need to get there around the time they open, or can I wander in in the middle of the day?

Also, I’m looking to do the GiveBack trade-in thing and get the £300 for my Pixel 2 XL; is that something I can do “instantly” on the day or do I need to do it in advance, get an appointment, etc?

Looking forward to ditching Android and being part of the cool kid club again ;)

So restore from backup or start from a clean slate? Now all the health data etc is backup up to cloud I’m tempted to start afresh again this year.

Also not bothered with the iOS 12 beta this year, think I’m going to save the update for the Xs!
Wondering the same thing myself. Always set up from new so far (had a bad experience years ago with photos duplicating etc. when restored from backup that put me off) but not sure I can be bothered this time. It seems pretty reliable now from what you read. Either way I'd update your old phone to iOS 12 / watch to WatchOS 5 first though, probably best to restore from a backup from the same OS version as the new devices have?

Now what are the odds on Apple letting me return my month old S3 Milanese loop to swap for the S4....

:(
I think there is a small chance. Definitely ask. If literally a month old, then from my experience - if you get a reasonable staff member they will change. I had similar situation with an S2 and they let me change to an S3.

I would suggest that if you haven't ordered then to do the overnight queue thing as stocks will run out quickly and there are always queues of people that haven't orderd outside every store. Even the Bath store that is small can have queues of over 100 people and only a few get what they want.
Yes i believe you can take your phone in to the Norwich store and they will gift you a voucher that you can use to buy your phone.

I'm currently on a Sim Only Three Plan paying £14 a month. I was going to go on the iUP and pay £68.90 a month for the phone

I've just signed up for an EE plan for £70 all in (after discount), which is cheaper than what I would have been paying per month, although I'm debating whether I've done the right things as I haven't locked in a phone contract for a long time. What do you guys this?
The cost on IUP is over 20 payments, carrier plans likely over 24.

Plus you can upgrade next year rather than being locked in with your carrier.
