I’m not convinced by all these wireless chargers......

I bought a Belkin one at Christmas but using it on my iPhone 8 Plus was really slow - it would literally take all night (overnight actually) to charge it back to 100% whereas using a wired charger would charge it in less than an hour.

You know, for £7.49... I don't care. I mean, it would be nice if it worked fine. I bought it for curiosity, I don't need one. Wireless charging was never a deal breaker to me.

Just so you know , Apple Watch data tariff with EE is free for the first 6 months then £5 thereafter or less. EE’s freebies are limitless, this was a standard offer when I connected my S3 last Dec.

So basically you ‘ve 6 months to assess & decide if you want to retain the data service.
It’s 3 Months not 6 after that it’s £5 for 10GB of data then it uses your allowance

How are you guys getting such great deals on EE sim only packs - are you calling retentions and threatening to leave?!!! Wondering if I can get my £16.99 a month (10Gb Data, Unlimted Calls & Texts) any cheaper......

Definitely can, you don't even need to go through retentions to get 20GB Sim Only Plan for 12 months / unlimited calls /texts. Just requires nhs discount etc. or any other work-related discount service

As per the below paragraph in the OP

Once I pre-ordered, Apple placed a hold on the funds in my account but released it a few days later without taking the money. Is there something wrong with my order?
When you pre-order from Apple and pay by credit or debit card, Apple will at some point place a ‘hold’ on the amount with your card company. This checks you've got the funds, and stops you spending them. However, a hold only lasts a few days, after which time your card company will automatically make the funds available to you to spend again. When you see this happen, it is nothing to worry about, it DOES NOT mean Apple has cancelled your order. Apple will not take the money out of your account until the day of shipping.

I've noticed that Apple have actually taken £999 from my account. Will this therefore be refunded in the next couple of days? I ordered for in-store pick up and will be setting up IPP.

Phew, just had a text from Lloyds querying my expenditure of £1249 and £749. I replied Yes and then had a text informing me that i would have to make the payment again!! Apple store showed requesting payment authorisation again so i went in and approved it again and all seems good. Never had that before

I had an email from Apple yesterday saying something similar. Spoke to the bank then Apple and it's all sorted. I just don't use that direct debit card very often.

Should do. The Xs max is the same size as the pluses.

I guess. What about the buttons though? Same?

It’s a sleeve/pouch.

Pre-ordered XS 64GB for store pickup...now just got an email from Apple saying that payment of my order could not be completed. Therefore, seems they are taking payment early, even for store pickups?

However, the email says "If after 7 days we're still unable to process your payment, your order will be cancelled"...so, by the time of pickup, it won't have actually reached the 7 days, and so maybe it wouldn't affect the order at all? All very confusing!

Disaster has struck! I just checked my order and somehow the wrong postcode is down for the delivery address. Rest of the address is correct but postcode is wrong by about 15 Miles. I called Apple and they can’t change it now until it goes to courier. They said this may affect the delivery date.

Has anyone had experience of this before?

When you get the tracking number likely with UPS, give your local depot a call and ask them to hold the phone for collection as you have noticed the postal code is incorrect on the delivery address. They should be able to do this for you. Addresses can only generally be changed after a first delivery attempt with most couriers but you can ask them to hold it at the depot before this is attempted. Good luck

I'm surprised they still have stock of most configurations for a decent delivery time, when Apple are a couple of weeks behind now. Hope it's not like CPW who blatantly lied about orders they couldn't fulfill last year. lol

Yup, just got a notification from my bank (Monzo) saying Apple has charged my card £999 for my XS. I have selected store-pickup as well for Sep 21.

Wireless charging is fine where you don’t pay for electricity, like in your car. But at home it’s a waste of money at a maximum 75% efficiency. I have a total of 8 mobile devices in my home so to charge all of them via wireless would take the equivalent power that it would take to charge 10 devices and that is a best case scenario. It’s not a lot of money, say £7 to £8 per year but if everyone switched to wireless that is a massive waste of power.

Hmm the only device capable of wireless charging at my home will be the new XS :). 6S Plus is to old, lg I have as spare phone also doesn't have it (he will go to the drawer permanently).
