Was this on an essential or max plan? Max plan being fastest data service and included roaming in additional countries (USA etc).
No max plan sims anymore only on contract phones with EE 24 months plans which is a complete scam to be honest forcing customers to take out expensive contracts.

I am fed up of explaining why i spent £1100 for a phone. It's because it is cheaper than a contract!

I sold my 8+ for £380 so it cost me £720 for my new phone and I have a £12 a month sim only contract.

To get last years phone on contract now with O2 is £46 a month plus £30 over two years that will cost you £1134

I will be having the latest and hopefully greatest for £1008

If you can afford the initial outlay which I did 5 years ago it is now cheaper to upgrade every year!

Has anyone bought the Logitech Powered Wireless charging stand and would you recommend it? I know it is very expensive for what it is (£59.99) but I really like the design.

I couldn’t agree more. Costing me £600 this year for a brand new iPhone XS Max 256GB. It’s expensive for your first buy but for, err, about £50 a month for a new phone every year, to me, it’s worth it.

You're right it is the most cost effective way to do it if you can. Enjoy your new phone.

Not to be pedantic and I do understand where people come from with this but by taking off the amount you got back for your 8+ doesn’t mean the Xs didn’t cost £999. I’m assuming you’ve paid for that 8+ in some way (as you say the initial purchase made at one point), and given you’ve sold it for £380, that’s still your money in your hands. Therefore taking that amount off the value of the Xs doesn’t meant the Xs cost was £720, it cost you £720 + your 8+/£380.

But be being pedantic. :).

Totally agree, getting a good sim only deal and buying outright works out well but is expense up front. Though it seems handed prices are sky high and simo deals/contracts compare more closely in some cases.

For me it’s about flexibility and choice, others it’s about affordability.

I don’t see myself changing mobile operator much, unless EE goes completely down the pan and if next years phone continues the trend of costing more (Xs Max in this case), contracts that offer yearly upgrades may seem more appealing.

Happy iPhone week! 4 sleeps to go!

I like those plastic ultra thin cases but they seem to get dust caught and scratch the side of the phone (mainly in the corners on my 7 Plus.

Not sure how the X or XS/XS Max will hold up with the glass back and stainless steel sides though.

Anyone use one on the X?
I bought one from Totallee but I never used it as I figured that the sides were so flimsy that they would let the dust and grit in.
I have pulled the trigger on an ESR transparent case as it has a scratch proof glass back to it and a Spigen thin case in black

Hi mate, looking to do the same. Can you pay it off on a 24 month contract.
No I wouldn't as APR goes up to 39.9. I wanted it for the 10 per cent off and 12 months interest free. I also missed out on the reserving from apple.
[doublepost=1537165838][/doublepost]Hoping as well my EE link will allow me to upgrade.

Any experience with EE pre-orders? I pre-ordered mine and hope to get it on Friday. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem realistic, based on what I read on the EE’s forum.

As per the below paragraph in the OP

Once I pre-ordered, Apple placed a hold on the funds in my account but released it a few days later without taking the money. Is there something wrong with my order?
When you pre-order from Apple and pay by credit or debit card, Apple will at some point place a ‘hold’ on the amount with your card company. This checks you've got the funds, and stops you spending them. However, a hold only lasts a few days, after which time your card company will automatically make the funds available to you to spend again. When you see this happen, it is nothing to worry about, it DOES NOT mean Apple has cancelled your order. Apple will not take the money out of your account until the day of shipping.

I've noticed that Apple have actually taken £999 from my account. Will this therefore be refunded in the next couple of days? I ordered for in-store pick up and will be setting up IPP.

Just an update on this. I called Apple Sales this morning who told me I now cannot pay using iPhone Payments, as it’s only available in store and I’ve ordered online. Despite the fact I’ll be paying in store on Friday anyway.

Does this sound right?

Moving from an iPhone 6s to an iPhone XS Max this week!

Will feel like some jump and a massive upgrade. Been using my 6s with no case for the last year and I can't decide if I want a case for this new one...

There seems to be some confusion with in store pickups. You still purchase the phone online and instead of having it delivered to your house/work it goes to an Apple Store instead hence why the money has been taken and all.

I believe iUP was only available for reservations but I may be wrong.

General reservations open at 6am on Saturday morning where you don’t pay anything and choose when you get to the store how you would like to pay for it

To everyone having Issues with Apple Pay transactions - I have had this for last couple of years with launch day orders.
Me too. No idea why, it works flawlessly the rest of the year even for fairly big orders. Must be server issues with the demand I guess. One time it did sort itself out later in the day before I got chance to call them, but it's safest to give them a ring and sort it.
