Even before Covid I thought having to go in store for the iUP was strange. It is going to cost them sales this year if they do not come up with a solution, it probably already has as even for the 12/12 Pro a lot of people probably thought it was not worth the hassle and did not bother.

Do you guys think 1 month lockdown is really going to work? it’s taken Melbourne in Australia 4 months to get rid of it and it seems way worse over there.

Unless things change I've decided to switch over to the 24 month finance this time around. Would much prefer to be on iUP but if I wait then being on iUP is likely going to mean I will need to wait next year (2/3 months) for the new phone for two reasons;
- this Max release is later than usual
- earliest to get this phone will be start of December but high risk will be later (order backlog and continued lockdowns).
The appeal of the programme is getting the new iPhone at release. First world problems I know.

So going 24 month plan, will sell this phone next year and have to manually pay off the loan before going back to iUP.

hoping there will be an update in the next few days if not i might just do the loan so i dont have to pay it in bulk. there is that or possibly amazon split the payments down to 5 payments, not as bad

It’s annoying I’m with the same problem.

Nothing really special to discuss here folks. They will just not allow you to do it until lock down is over, it really is as simple as that. Apple can try and figure out a way to do it online or they could simply wait a month and carry on BAU.

I know which id choose if I was apple.

Assuming it is a month, could very easily go on longer

Just got an alert that my iPhone is ready for pick up on iUP. The problem is they only have roughly a 2 hour window tomorrow during the day and I can’t make it :( Thursday onwards are greyed out

I'm gonna pay off the remainder of my plan and cancel the apple care. Apple offered £560 for my phone 11 Pro Max 64GB so 12 pro max will be £22.45 per month. can't be bothered for the hassle if the shop's don't open back up in 4 weeks! No one at apple seemed to think it would be possible to do this in store.

You never know if the government decides to extend this lockdown to Jan.. at this rate your better off purchasing your iPhone pro max/mini sim free or skip this year by the time the shops are opening back up your only 9 months away from iPhone 13....

Spoke to online chat again earlier and they said that each store would be operating different rules. They asked which were my 'local' stores so asked for Watford and Cambridge. Called Cambridge and they said they didn't know or have any information... Hopefully they'll clarify tomorrow...

Can't figure out if it's better to just switch to the 24 month deal and trading in to get back on IUP next year...

Is there a minimum number of payments you need to have made on the 24 month deal before you can pay it off? I know on IUP you need to have made at least 10...

Really. You can’t pay off a IUP anytime? That’s weird.

Well it says you can 'upgrade once you've made 11 monthly payments' (so ten minus the first one).

Can be paid if any time the 24 month loan.
