Thanks for this.

Yep expected that. No upgrade for me this year. Can’t be bothered with the headache of calling Barclays’s and then paying off the existing loan and then try to sell the phone in person during lockdown! I’m definitely not sending the phone over to anyone via post etc.

Headache is the last thing I need right now.

Seems to vague a response from them, seems to keep referring to Barclays rather than answer the question.

What's weird is how the biggest company in the world, still have all their stores listed as open (and into next week), the IUP existing user page is still working too. If they were shutting you'd have thought these would have been updated ?
Still ever hopeful the IUP will still go ahead.

Just been to the Watford Apple store and spoke to someone it seems an announcement about IUP is coming soon. The stores will be closed so he said they would be pausing upgrades, unless Apple makes it possible online but it seems they are just as in the dark as we are...

It's so frustrating that they're not being forthcoming with information so close to pre-order day...

That’s amazing thank you for updating us. It’s a shame we still don’t know about the upgrade programme but it’s a good sign in the right direction! I think they know if they don’t work something out it will cost them big time. No way I’m updating my phone in December / January because it means when the iPhone 13 comes out I’ll have to wait 3/4 months for it. I’m already not happy I’ll have to wait 2 months but it’s nobody’s fault. I’m pretty sure 90% of the people on the iPhone upgrade programme are on it because they want the next iPhone each year so the longer they make people wait the more it will damage them

The logical thing to do would be to allow us to do all the paperwork online then get it “verified” when we collect/trade in for iUP. Might be a lot easier for you lot already on iUP rather than for me who’s just trying to sign up!

It’s still saying that message so seems for now it’s still blocked. I think I’ll just keep my 11 pro max for a year, really disappointing but I’m not waiting until december/January every year for a new phone. These things can’t be helped at the moment!

just got the email to say IUP not possible.. .. GUTTED ! been waiting for what feels like an eternity.. don't understand if they offer click and collect but NOT IUP upgrades..

Just got an email from Apple saying no upgrade in store and to call to discuss options.
I think I’ll just buy outright, trade in and pay off the IUP.

Handily, when you go to buy with a trade in from the store app, it warns you it will automatically cancel the IUP with Apple.

SO frustrating.

So... does anyone know if there any penalties for paying off the 24 month 0% loan early?

Is there any massive issue with a credit check? I mean is that going to affect anything really? i've not really read into that sort of stuff. I dont really need the credit as can buy out right but would rather not pay it all in one chunk?

trying to work out the maths of switching over to paying for the phone monthly with apple finance instead of IUP. seems like they put more effort into people paying monthly that us trying to use the IUP. Looking into paying the monthly's on a 0% finance instead and still upgrading every year through trade in. am I mad? at least that way I can do it all online and not have to pay for Apple care+ as well

I’m considering doing that exact same thing
