I mentioned this quickly yesterday, rather than tracking via TNT UK sire, go to global home site and select China as your country - its not down and i can track my iPad there with no issues..... maybe worth a try

TNT UK is still down for "maintenance". I wonder if they have switched it off because it's not used to this kind of sudden demand.

I Just checked there to get my details and its fine. btw the number isn't the reference its a consignment number and the link is below. Just click consignment number enter your 9 digit number and hit track it should still be in shenhzen

Oh ya! Order status came back online and now Im prepared for shipment!

32GB 3G w/ O2 sim and camera kit. Also, my order always said "Ships: By May 28", so I guess the whole Delivers by/ships by dates didn't really matter.

In a conversation I had with Apple earlier I was told the Ships by was standard wording on accessories. Delivered by on the iPad was worded that way because that was a launch day on such a "major" product as she called it.

Still find it odd that Apple are using both TNT and UPS. I'm in Scotland... are they maybe using different couriers for different parts of the UK?

I have tried all combinations of numbers and both reference and consignment options on that site. It could be this 24hours before it starts to log thats mentioned. Did your order say something like this.
Shipped on: May 22, 2010 via TNT UK Ltd
Mine is the 3G model. With it saying TNT UK I was wondering if it's different to the WIFI models.

I don't know but when I asked one of the Apple ladies the chances of the option of collect in store becoming available later, she said it could do as UPS would be stretched to the limit on launch day. Possibly they have roped TNT in as well for part of the job now. Anyone know if they have used them in the past?

This may sound a little like a scam but I'm sure I can't cancel anything. If your having trouble with the websites you can PM me your 9 digit tracking number and I can check for you on TNT website

Where are you getting the nine digits from. My number is 10..

JordanDevive: I assume you ordered a wi-fi model? In which case it is probably shipping from China, whereas the UK 3G models look to be shipping from the UK.

The international TNT tracker doesn't recognise my number, and the UK TNT tracking site is still down for maintenance.

Whats the betting the TNT UK tracking site comes out of maintenance next Saturday :D

Wi-fi orders = TNT China = 9 digits?
3G orders = TNT UK = 10 digits?

I have a 9 digit Tracking number on the US Apple your orders page. Just under the date via TNT UK. That number is also a clickable link that takes you to the Shipment status page on Apples site. That has a 10 digit carrier tracking number also called a Delivery reference number. I think thats where the 9 or 10 digits may be coming from.

Morning everyone.

Did you manage to ask them why it was cancelled. Whats the plan now, queue?

Couldn't speak to anyone at Apple who knows what was going on, which means I have no idea whether any future order would similarly be cancelled or not.

Plus if I re-order I'll be waiting weeks, because everyone else is in front of me in the queue now.

No way I'm trying the retail stores either, unless there's enough stock that I can just walk in and buy one.

So basically I'm going to wait and see. If Apple can reinstate my order, fine. If they can at least explain what happened, I'll consider re-ordering next month maybe, when stock is available. Otherwise I'll hold off for now, I think.

I hadn't spotted that.

Perhaps the 9 digit code is an international tracking order and the 10 digit a 'national' one?

The US store says Shipped via TNT UK Ltd, but clicking that 9 digit tracking link takes me to a page with the 10 digit tracking info!

I would keep chasing it during the week. You will have an original order number that they supplied I presume. If they are in the wrong then there is a good chance they will re-instate the order for you and you will probably regain your place again. I seem to remember reading here somewhere during the US launch a chap describing a similar experience. In the thread he posted in quite a few started to suggest he was trying something underhand etc. But after a call he did get his place back. Apple had made an error.

If they are in the UK as suggested by the TNT UK bit, then the tracking number we have my not go live until it's actually out for delivery to us. Next Friday.

On the TNT China site the 9-digit number appears under Consignment No. and the 10-digit under Reference No.

I think the 9-digit is a TNT no. and the 10-digit is an Apple no. - Apple can't use your Order No. as it might be sent as more than one shipment

still no movement whatsoever on my order

not yet shipped on either UK or US site, i don't mind admitting i'm getting worried now as i seem to be very much in the minority!

Yes, I'm with 2 iPad 64-3g, and 2 Voda sims, no movement at all... 5.30am order too, so nothing too late.

Almost feel like I'm the only one left now, lol.
