I've been waiting 20 hours. I'll give them four more hours -24 hours- and if it's not in, I'm calling.

Anyone having any results with calling? I've been waiting ~15 hours. Someone's losing their job over this "hicup" I bet. Apple has a reputation to uphold.

I think it's time to ramp up another order status spread sheet.. So we can input "enter serial # Date/Time..

I have recently bought 2 Macbooks.
For a 13 inch one I did not have to submit proof of purchase, for my rMBP I did.

Haven't heart about either of them yet, although I bought both of them online in the UK.

No, I bought my Air online 6/23 and still haven't received a code yet (submitted twice). It's been about 19hrs.

I finally just bought it -- got tired of waiting. Once they fix their problems I'll just file a claim with the App Store and get a refund. They're really good about giving refunds so it shouldn't be an issue, especially since this is all Apple's problem.

i dont think this is a problem on apples side

i think this is a money making scheme as they know people will give in and buy it and leave it at that without calling to get a refund.... if you think, even if apple can make 100k on just that, they will do it... poor

Don't be so silly. Its only the impatient few on this forum that are buying it as they cant possibly wait another day.

They obviously do have issues because of the reports of codes not working and the fact it takes so much longer than usual.

Don't forget that MR forums is full of crazy people who are very impatient and 99.999999999% of the world probably don't even know Mountain Lion is out :D

Rmbp buyers who waited for delivery, are you completing the form using the order or ship date for the purchase date on the form?

I used the ship date as that's when my cc was charged, and I still haven't received any code at all. Tried to resubmit with the order date (3 weeks before ship date) and of course I got the error that my SN had already been used.

Just had Apple support (Germany) on the phone. He claimed to have looked into the application, told me that its status is "pending" and that a dedicated team is going through the applications.

He told me that my code might come tomorrow but probably will be mailed on Monday. This to me means:

No codes over the weekend. !!???!!

Still waiting for mine. Submitted yesterday at 3pm UK time.

Nothing so far.... and looking unlikely for the rest of the day I reckon.

22 hours passed without any reply, so I decided to re-do the whole procedure again. I uploaded a better quality proof of purchase, maybe they use a kind of OCR system to recognize if the Mac is eligible for a free update.
We shall see.

Had to upload a copy of invoice.

Will just wait, not going to bother going through the whole rigmarole of doing it again, but would like it today, as I'm away then until Sunday night.

I think if anything submitting again would slow the process down. I wish they would have sent a confirmation email saying they received our request though.

Submitted my claim at 3pm yesterday (BST), still no code.

I'm just called Apple support and they've re-sent me the code (nothing in my inbox yet) and asked me to ring them back in 24 hours telling them of success of failure.

So they told you they re-sent your code? I'm going to call within a few hours to see if they'll do this for me also.

Almost 24h for me and no code yet...

I might call Apple Support again today to see if that can speed things up a bit :D

Just submitted a second time and was asked to upload a receipt. We'll see if I have any better luck today since it's been 24 hours.

By the way, how ridiculous is it that you have to scan a receipt for something you bought online in their store?

me too, been waiting since it first officially went up yesterday and still haven't received any emails from apple

24 hours here, I have received no less than 6 emails advertising ML's release. It worked I just bought it :eek:.
