After reading some sites and forums, it appears we were supposed to upload a proof of purchase. When I signed up and filled out the forms yesterday afternoon, this option wasn't present to me nor was it required. I was able to get a claim code without submitting my receipt.

Has anyone who didn't upload a receipt get their code yet? I can't sign up again since they validate on serial number - it says it was already registered. What should I do?

I don't think it matters. I wasn't asked for PoP and my claim was approved.

I submitted my request at 8 am PST yesterday morning and haven't heard anything either. I couldn't take it anymore and went ahead and paid the $20 to buy it. I also just submitted a reimbursement request. I hope they'll consider refunding it. If not, oh well. I couldn't stand waiting anymore. So impatient.

I didn't submit any forms and I don't think you need to. AppleCare told me that my two requests were both immediately validated. That was yesterday at 9 am EST, however, I still haven't gotten a code for either submission.

30 hours waiting... Still, if they sent me the code, I wouldn't install right away, I need all my programs working just fine, and not sure if it will break something... So, it makes sense for me to wait.

But still, I'm really impatient to get my hand on the ********** code

I'm at just about 29 hours now, and nothing.

I'm with everyone else here: I bought a rMBP, so Apple should have figured out a way to make everyone with rMBP get it for free, as it's impossible to not be eligible with it.

72-hours? Sheesh. Should've called it the "Three-Days-Late" program.

Over 24 hrs. I called AppleCare and was told it was already approved and they would resend the codes immediately and that I should receive them within an hour. Never received anything.

Everyone still waiting just buy it and request a refund. I have not heard a single story of people being denied their refunds.

This is ridiculous... I love Apple, but part of the reason I do is because stuff like this usually doesn't happen. I called AppleCare 4 hours ago and they told me they were resending the email. Still nothing. They told me if I haven't gotten anything by Sunday to contact them again. I can't wait until Sunday. I need to upgrade here quickly so I can begin a new music project without risking my work or losing time over transferring files. I'm about to just give in and buy it.

You can just press continue 3 times after it tells you that the serial number was used and it will accept it and will ask you for your proof of purchase. I just resubmitted it after hearing nothing from them for 24 hours. I was not asked for proof of purchase the first time, but was asked now.

Hopefully one of them will get approved soon...

I had no option whatsoever to submit a receipt or proof of purchase... Oh and now when I try to resubmit it says I already claimed an upgrade with that serial number -- but I still have no code!!

Ditto. Filled out the form 7/25 around 5PM CST. Coming up on 24 hours and still NOTHING... All I want for Xmas is Mountain Lion.

They only require proof of purchase if you bought the computer at a store. If you got it through your account on the online store, they don't need a reciept since it is already linked to your account.

Up to 32 hours...no word. Tried to resubmit and it says this serial is claimed. At the very least, it would have been nice if on the first submit, Apple had auto-responded using the email presented that they received the submission...is that too much to ask?

I mean, I've built piece of crap websites with a couple hundred lines of code that does that when someone signs up...heck, this forum does that and Apple cannot manage a simple auto-respond email.

Pretty sad.

I bought mine at a reseller and it did not ask for proof of purchase...I have it right here and would gladly submit it if they asked.

When I submitted my request I was not asked for a receipt, I suspect it's because i bought online from the Apple website. Still no code yet. 27 hours and counting
