Apple really ****ed up again - I've gotta say they've outdone themselves.

I'm assuming every serial number has a purchase date and location associated with it - otherwise they wouldn't be able to check if your mac is still covered by the free 1 year applecare or 90 day phone support.

All they ****ing have to do is to check if the serial number and provided purchase date / location match - if they do - autosend the damn code. Geez.

I submitted in the first hour of the up-to-date site opening, and still haven't heard a thing. I know my request is in because if I try to resubmit it says my serial has been used.

Arggh I'm angry. I thought the high prices you pay for Apple products involved getting rid of ******** hassle like this.

Im at 46 hours. I just gave in and bought it. It seems like ExpressLane is the best CS right now for this, and everyone is getting refunded.

With the uptodate program being so slow may be they should rename it the "out of date" program..:D

We might ML before the next release... we might not...

It's coming on two days for me now too. I haven't sent any emails to Apple, and I'm just waiting for my code. It's slightly frustrating when four out of my last ten emails have been from Apple. The first was to say my iTunes account had been used on a new computer, the second was an iTunes receipt, the third was an ad for Mountain Lion, and now I've just received one from AppleCare about my HE warranty. Argh.

Can someone link to to where I can get the refund? I'm gonna buy ML now. This up-to-date thing is BS.

Since I live in the Netherlands and I bought my Mac there but I don't speak Dutch very well, would you please gimme the link?
Dank je wel :)

OK, I found it!

https://uptodate.apple.com/UtdPrepareAction?program=Mountain Lion&locale=nl_nl

The problem is that it doesn't accept my phone number and I can't proceed any further :(

I used my mobile phone number, with 31 as country code, followed by a 6 in the next textfield, and then the remainder of my phone number in the third textfield.

----------

Did you get any confirmation email when you register to up-to-date program? I didnt get any

I did not get anything either.

Twice. Once without a receipt, the other with a receipt.

I only received an e-mail for my first claim (yesterday at 8:30AM) - this one did not have a receipt submitted.

Doesn't look like there is any rhyme or reason to this process.

I'm still waiting. Approaching 48 hours.

----------

first time i post here but i had to share the news. I went ahead a bought ML on the app store and requested the refund through express lane just as other members here have done. took them about 8 hours to answer but it was worth it. I told them i ordered by mistake.

After reviewing the circumstances of your case, we determined that issuing you a refund for your unintentional purchase of "OS X Mountain Lion" is an appropriate exception to the Terms and Conditions, which state that all sales are final. You will see 19.99 USD added to your store credit balance within 48 hours. You may need to sign out of the iTunes Store and then sign back in before you see the credit in your account.

I hope this helps

I don't want store credit.

....

Just tried to re-submit my claim but it says that serial was already submitted.

Hurry up Apple!

Same here... Tried this again, thought it was worth a shot, but no go.

Apple say in their Terms & Conditions that "you need to provide sales receipt number, itemised payment... not a copy"

It would been best to actually say this during the form fill out like "Send an electronic proof of purchase via email to <.....> or something, but instead they just ask for Serial if your Mac.

I'm not even up to this stage yet ... How can you send proof without an email + 24 hours or so for the (wait) (seems longer)

They need a better system....

"Theres no such thing as a free lunch" I'm beginning to agree here.

Enough of the messing round..... I'm buying it tonight.... :apple:

Murphy's Law

Bought ML about an hour ago and just got the email

That's what's stopping me....I know that Murphy's Law says, if I click to buy, the code email will then show up almost immediately.

About 54 hours and counting for me.....if they had just sent a confirmation email that my claim was received, I wouldn't even care....it's not the waiting for a few days which is annoying, it's the lingering thought that the whole thing got messed up.

I don't care, They're going to refund me anyways and reverse the purchase, and then ill enter the code in so that it shows up in my purchase history
