for those that had trouble with phone numbers, I didn't even enter one in. I don't have a number so I figured if they need a phone number then the system doesn't work. Not everyone has phones.

40 hours for me. I did it at 7:20am, and that was the time I first noticed up to date was open. And now it's the weekend so if I get a code in the next 48 hours I'll need to go into work or uni to download and it's really not something I want to do. THE WEEKEND ISN'T FOR GOIGN INTO UNI! It's also depressing that I'm spending my friday night like this.

....how do you get them to refund you?

Email the Mac App Store Billing via ExpressLane on apple.com. Tell them you're eligible for a free upgrade and make up the excuse of your choice. Everyone that did it on here said they got a refund.

Just got mine. 46 hours exactly. And wow, two emails. They must think I'm trying to launch a nuclear missile to get a $20 piece of software.

Someone please post how you contacted Apple to get an update. Does it have to be by phone? I'm currently in out of the country and that would be a bit of an expensive call

I got two emails from apple which appear to be the up to date program. A password protected attachment and the second email that had the password - kind of strange. Why not just give me a coupon code to redeem for ML

I haven't done anything with it yet, its just sitting there.

I'm at about 37 hours after submitting the request. Still no email...

I'm hoping to get a code by the end of today so that I can install ML and play with it over the weekend.

Just got mine as well. Took just under 48 hours. Sounds like the 40-48 hour mark is the norm. I believe they did say it could take up to 72 hours.

Five days later

I finally just received the working Mountain Lion Back-to-Mac App Store codes this morning at 7am EST. I originally applied back on Monday when the application was available, but was soon unavailable. My code was one of the invalid codes. This morning Apple finally sent a replacement.

Up to 72 Hour Wait

I contacted Apple by phone and told them I had been waiting for the code since yesterday and they told me that I had to wait up to 72 hours to get the code. Guess I'll have to wait for it to come over the weekend.

Checked me email this morning...nothing. Almost 48 hrs. Decided to give up, purchase it, and hope for a refund. Opened up the app store then decided to check my email one last time. BOOM. Got the emails. Insane. Downloading now. Thank you, Apple, for annoying the piss out of me.

I had enough after waiting 36 hours, so this morning I decided to just buy the thing and tell them I wanted a refund, as I've been waiting too long.

Sure enough, less than an hour later, I receive two emails from Apple with my codes and passwords.

That's life.
