Update:

Applied for code on 7/25 at 10:15am

MacBook Air purchased from MacMall TN USA on July 3rd

Signed up for up to date program no receipt asked.

Finally got both emails at today 7/27 7:38am EST time.

Haven't tried them out as I got the code on my commute to work.

This takes the piss

Been over 48 hours now. Microsoft handled things way better when I bought office 2007 and office 2010 was imminent. On the day of release of 2010 I automatically received my link to download 2010. There is no reason at all that Apple could not have done something similar. I have switched to Mac to try to get something better than microsoft.

Frankly they would have been better just not offering a free upgrade and I would have swallowed the £13 and been done long ago.

They keep telling me that it is an automated process. I can't believe that humans aren't involved. It is crazy slow for an automated process. Maybe the whole thing is running off a single laptop.

To piss me off even more, when you fill in the form online, there is this code that they EXPECT YOU TO COPY DOWN. Why they can't email it to you when you have had to include your email in the process is anyone's guess. Then customer service got all sweaty with me when I am complaining about having to physically copy down a code (that I didn't do, and they had on file anyway). The whole thing feels like a company that is just trying out this internet thing. **** Muppets.

47 hours to the second and not a freakin word from apple.

:D:D

47 hours and 47 minutes and my code just arrived. I say this not to gloat for those who are still waiting, but to offer some shred of hope that all is not lost.

Good luck (now let's see if the friggin thing works....)

42 hours... nothing, not a single email from Apple.
Took my S/N on the first try - If I try to enter again, it gives me that the S/N has already been claimed.

Emailed/Called the App Store Support and got the "it could be 24-72 hours".
I've emailed "uptodatesupport@apple.com" twice, with no response...

Frustrated and disappointed...

It's just a few hours short of TWO days since I put in my request for the Up-To-Date Mountain Lion upgrade. While I appreciate the free upgrade after buying my MacBook Pro last month, I'm really disappointed. Like most MacHeads, I've been eagerly looking forward to the official Mountain Lion release. When I heard that Mountain Lion was out and the Up-To-Date website was up and running, I immediately put in my request. I had it in my head that I'd be a happy camper; playing with my new OS within a few hours. It's so frustrating that, almost two days later, I'm still waiting for my code. I must've checked my email every 15 minutes yesterday. I just wish Apple would've put out an official statement saying that it'll take 72 hours, like some people on here have said Apple Support told them. I'm sure I'm gonna love Mountain Lion, and I appreciate all the hard work that the folks at Apple have put into it, but this has got to be one of the most anti-climactic Mac OS releases for me. Much love for you, Apple, but, sadly, someone dropped the ball on this one.

48 hours and nothing. Phoning Apple to demand them to arrange that I get my code by the end of the call.

Almost 48 hours since original submission and still nothing.

Just rang Apple support, they said if it hasn't come by tomorrow @ 5pm (BST) give them another ring and they'll re-send the code.

Finally got my code, only problem is I am at work. Oh well, looks like I have to wait till tonight.

For those asking, put in the claim request on July 25 at 9am

Mine arrived after 43 hours... Downloading!!!

Submitted my claim at 10am est on launch day and got it today at 7am est. my mbp was bought on June 11th on an retail apple store

What has gone from a max 24 hour wait is now 72 hours. He basically said he had the power to send me the code now, but the directive is that he can't.

It's an absolutely disgusting way to treat early adopters and dedicated users of their technology and anyone saying that it 'makes sense' doing it this way to ease the load on their servers - BULL CRAP. Have you seen their quarterly figures for the last bazillion months? Telling me they can't afford to roll out a new OS better than this?

Disgusted.

Its nice to see that some people are receiving their codes, it gives me hope that mine might arrive... Ive just reached the 48 hour point. Nothing from Apple. Ive checked my email so much now and I just can't imagine seeing an email from Apple with my code lol.

I know how you feel. I'm still several hours away from the 48 hour mark, but it sucks to keep on waiting.

4 emails

44 hours later and I just received 4 emails, 2 separate password emails and 2 content emails. Hopefully the other one will work too.

I received one email this morning. No email with password to open the .PDF (yes, I checked Spam, etc..). Beyond frustrating. Called Apple and they said it may take up to 24 hours to send me another code...

I'm a pretty unlucky guy so I'll just accept the fact that I will get the code in 72 hrs. Half way there.

well the more the wait goes on the more i question if i did the form right. i'll wait till this time tomorrow and if still nothing i might just resend a form if nothing by end of the day then ill call.

Well it seems that they are starting to sent these code out, maybe they should try to increase the number of code they are sending by hour ;)

I totally agree with you, for their prices everybody would expect at least a decent customer service. In my prospective more than couple of hours means they didn't done their home work or just don't give a cr*p, anyway I don't care about the reason, I'm deeply disappointed in Apple's service, and not for the first time.

coming up on 48 hours here and still nothing :( do they work on weekends or will we have to wait for Monday?

I'll be to 48 hours in about a hour or so. People are still getting them today so lets hope we see ours today. I hope they actually got mine correctly and are working on it. I emailed uptodatesupport@apple.com this morning with my serial number to see if they received my request.
