If you had read every post on this thread then you would have seen that plenty of people bought and claimed a refund before and just after the 24hr mark.

I was here when this thread started and have been here since. When people have asked for refunds they have tended to make an excuse for doing so. I'm asking if I simply tell them I can't wait will they refund me? If you read into it a little more I wasn't just asking if it was at all possible to get a refund, I'm asking if I can under my circumstances.

You my friend got lucky...somehow apple's convoluted system skipped over all of us and gave you yours. how that makes sense if it is an automated process is beyond me.

sounds to me like tim cook needs to lay off the whiskey while handing out the codes one by one.
Yeah it seems strange. I used a different system than everyone here I believe though... There were two different systems. One for people who purchased before July 26th, and one for people who purchased on July 26th or after. I used the latter which may be the reason why we are seeing these disparities. Best of luck to everyone! Btw, rMBP owns... Haters almost made me not get this thing.

Submitted my request yesterday at 5:00 pm. It asked for proof of purchase. This AM no validation code yet. Thinking that I may have entered my serial number incorrectly-O instead of 0, I resubmitted it. This time it did not ask for proof of purchase and it gave me a new verification code. Hopefully this will go through faster because it won't require a human to verify the proof of purchase.

Received my password email and content code email 7/27 at 9:00AM. The time from second application to email received was 24 hours.

I copied and pasted my SN from Hardware info. Won't let me submit again. Have waited ~48 hours now. Who knows if they are even working on my request since people ahead of me are getting them.

I requested my code 7/25 at around 1730 PST. I still have not received anything.

My friend requested his code yesterday afternoon. He told me this morning it came in overnight, WTF. I might just have to fire up my old sources for "free software" just out of spite.

I might have to do the same thing...considering I rightfully own it. Just sad that Apple can't get their crap together. I shouldn't have to do that on a 2k computer I bought 3 days ago.

I have submitted two codes, both now over 48 hours and still nothing. Really hoping they respond soon as I would like it before I go away where there is no internet!

Oh how simple the days were when you could just go and redeem a DVD in an Apple Store!

When did you submit?

I've hit 36 hour mark. I wait a month to the day for this rMBP, and now Apple is making me wait more. Ugh.

I submitted on Monday when the site was up. I was at the Cleveland Indians game last night ( go Tribe!) and the emails showed up on my iPhone. I was so anxious to get home. Now I'm updated and running Mountain Lion!

just spoke to apple care since I already had some questions I needed help with,
this is my take on it:

1. first you apply for the upgrade,
2. you wait for it to get accepted,
3. you receive emails/pdfs with the code

however, they said I should receive it within 24h after applying - BUT they won't take any action until 72h has passed and it hasn't shown.

here's what he told me:
The 72h start counting when it is accepted, NOT when you applied.
And since it weekend in less than 12h... probably ML next week

hope this clarifies it for everyone

Maybe I am dense, buthow can you resubmit? it says the serial was already claimed?

Just hit continue 3 times, it will accept it again on the 3rd time. I just did it yesterday after hearing nothing for 24 hours. If I don't hear anything by this evening, I'll submit a 3rd one, maybe try a different email address.
