Got two emails from apple about a pdf or something, but i still havent received the "Get Mountain Lion" mail, what the hell ...... oh wait.

I made my first claim 48 hours ago and a second about 14, the reference number that came with the pdf was the one of the second claim so it would appear i waited 34 hours in vain.... my advice is to keep pushing that up-to-date site until you get the message saying that your serial number is already registered.

Got the message after first claim.

----------

I'd still try anyway.. say that u didn't keep a record of it..

Apart from that, you'd probably have to wait...

Okay thanks.

Yay! Just got the code.
I submitted first request at 6pm EDT on Jul 25.
Resubmitted again at 6pm on Jul 26.
Got code at 12:15pm on Jul 27.

Not sure if this is from the first or 2nd request as I'm at work now and I don't remember my reference number.

Tried the code on my work Mac on my personal account, and it worked.

Wondering if I should resubmit. Only worry is if it invalidates the first code of it shows up.

48H waiting,

How do you guys resubmit? I wrote them a mail but got no reply. Also, when going back to the uptodate page, I can't pass through the serial number request as it says it's already been used... :(

Their website says 24 hours but I just got this.

Dear customer,

This is an automated reply, but an iTunes Store (Mac App Store) representative will review your request and send you a personal response, most likely within 48 hours.

While you are waiting, you may wish to review this article:

i want it for the weekend and im thinking about torrenting it. i know its shady, but im going on the 3rd day. What would the down sides be?

also, whats stopping someone from getting one installer and installing on 50 comps? the service agreement? How would apple even find out ( something in code) or a whistle blower at a company or something?

I just called Apple and they said my claim has been approved and I should get the email tonight or tomorrow.

I asked her to confirm that emails are going out at the weekend as well and she said yes they are. :)

That is what I did. I had planned for messing with the OS yesterday to get my workflow up and running again and simply do not have time to mess with it over the next few days. This wait is redicoulous

In R4, more or less
I received codes around 2 days later (early this morning). But I wonder if my phone call was the reason for receiving them.

This seems unnecessarily complicated and poorly executed.

I contacted Apple this morning. I have been waiting 49 hours so far since my submission. The Apple Care rep said 72 hours is the current party line.

Supposedly my application has been approved and he said it had been sent while we were on the phone.

As I indicated to him, it had better arrive today. And it had better improve the performance of the Retina MacBook Pro. I have no intention of running the Retina at 1440x900 and right now the scaling performance reminds me of Windows Vista.

Yea, that's going to leave a scar.

:D

----------

Bought a new rMBP last night sent in my request for update at 8 pm and received the code this morning at 8 am. Everyone who has been waiting over 24 hours I think has an isolated issue, or else this would make no sense.

WTF? This is hardly an isolated issue considering the wide swath of times in the thread.

Which email did you guys email to expedite the code issuance? I submitted about 50 hours ago and not a single email from Apple received. I tried submitting a second claim and it says the serial number has already been used for a previous claim, does that mean my claim has been approved? Then what the hell are they waiting for?

Still nothing. Serious embarrassment for our fruity friends, really.

Edit: I bought directly from Apple, BTO, on 16th June. MBA13/8/128. So really no reason why checking my submission should be in any way anything other than straight forward.

I submitted two different claims for two different laptops about 50 hours ago. I got an email for one of them about an hour ago (it was actually the second one I submitted in the sequence). At this point I guess I don't care about the second email b/c I was able to copy the install program to an external hard drive and then to the desktop of my second laptop. I'm currently installing it on both. One question though, is there anyway to do a clean install with this, or is this solely an upgrade of the existing OS?
