Why? Wouldn't the new iOS release coincide with the Apple press conference on September 10? I thought that's what they usually did.

Damn, now I found rumor mills showing a rumored September 23 release for iOS 13.

Normally, Apple releases the GM of the new iOS after the phone announcement keynote. Then the actual public release occurs 2 days before the launch of the new phones.

So, with that, you can likely expect the GM new iOS (13.0 or 13.1) to be released to developers next Tuesday, 9/10. The public release will likely come on Weds, Sept 18.

Hope that helps!

Just got the notification it was fixed. This is the first time I have had a fix happen. Sort of addicting! Now I will be more likely to submit corrections. If I can only convince them to fix the wrong freeway entrance by my house...

This was a POI address issue. My work office was labeled incorrectly.

If it’s an issue with a major road and you’re not in an area with the new maps, it’s probably a TomTom issue and if that’s the case, there’s nothing Apple can realistically do about it.

In my hometown, Apple Maps shows an incorrect alignment for two numbered routes through town. I’ve reported it at least twice and they’ve done nothing. I’ve yet to try reporting it to TomTom, but not sure if it’s worth it at this point.

Good point! I am in CO, so I am slowly getting surrounded by the new maps. I will wait and see what happens when I get that, and report again if needed. There was another POI entrance I submitted last week, so I’m curious if that happens before the new maps.

I just got notifications for 2 POI corrections I submitted a month or so ago. Something's happening.....(and yes, I get all warm and fuzzy when they fix stuff I've suggested ;))

I need to report the driveway thing. It’s not doing it all the time any more but about half the time.

I have a feeling the new maps are coming to the Midwest soon. I mentioned the other day that I had started getting responses from Apple about Maps feedback. There were a few at that point. But I woke up this morning to a TON of notifications from the Maps app about updates that were made based on feedback I sent in. It is mainly smaller things like adding that some businesses in my area are now accepting Apple Pay, updating business hours, and things like that. But it's good to see so many changes come through now, considering some of them were reports from months ago!

The same flood of fixes is underway for me in Germany. This is almost surely not related to an imminent launch of Maps 2.0 in your area, although it might coincide. Apple just updated their internal tooling to process iOS 13’s improved “Report an Issue” reports. They must have built up a worldwide backlog during the whole beta period of iOS 13.

Even more weirdness going on with iOS 12. I still don't have updated maps. Today I went for a drive and Maps wouldn't go fully into navigate mode. I pressed Go, and I got a scrollable list of directions at the very top. Instead of the arrow, I had a blue dot, showing where I was. The directions would not update as I drove, I had to manually swipe after each direction had passed. It was very very strange. It felt like running Maps on an iPod touch or something where it has no GPS so it was running on cached data. But the dot did update in real time. I ended up rebooting the phone, and then navigation worked correctly again (meaning I got the arrow back and it was true turn-by-turn. The swipeable stuff was gone.)

Except then the location was consistently off. Like I had a turn coming up in probably 1/4 mile, and it said "0 ft". And then when I got home, it still thought I was 250 ft away. I ended the route, and then hit the Home button to go to another app and I got the blue bar prompting me to return to navigation. This persisted for a few minutes.

Something was really really off.

That would make sense, too. Guess we’ll see what happens!

I had an oddity occur today, also. Got into my car and started up CarPlay. Searched for a POI, and then asked for directions. The loading symbol on CarPlay was spinning and spinning and spinning, but directions weren't loading. After almost a minute, I got a message saying navigation was temporarily unavailable, and it brought me back to the map. So I drove just on the regular map screen, and it was working just fine. I thought that maybe I was having issues because new maps were heading my way, but no.

When I got in my car 30 minutes later to go to my next destination, navigation was working normally again, and I still didn't have new maps. lol

I know this is jumping ahead a bit, but any guessing on what region could be next? I wasn't expecting the Northeast after the previous updates being in the southwest.

Same here. I bet they go "south" and finish the Southeast, and then move into the Midwest. After all of the U.S. is complete, I bet southern Canada (bordering the U.S.) is next.

Selfishly I hope they move more towards the middle mountain states before going all the way around the perimeter haha.

I wonder how Apple Maps decides what information to include in its directions. Normally, it'll show the interstate shield of the highway you're about to go onto, but on this one particular ramp it doesn't.

Also, Apple notified me that they "fixed" a POI correction I sent them two or three days ago for that same library. Except it looks like nothing changed at all....

I definitely don't see that, in same area, and I am on 13.1 B2 on an XS Max. It also doesn't show on an iPhone 7 with 12.4.

Yep...while it seems to be rolling out to more people even today, not everyone is lucky enough to have the new Maps data yet. Should be soon for the Northeast!
