It's so weird how this works. I wonder if there's any way to "trick" my phone into connecting to a different server.

ha i was thinking of that last week and googled it but couldn't find an answer

LOL. I'm sure its not that simple. My wife still has the new Maps on her phone. Maybe removal is related to how much we yack about it here. Apple realizes its us and cuts us off!

I agree with @MozMan68 that this quite possibly indicates that we're getting closer to a release. I still think it will happen Weds/Thurs, as iOS 13 gets released.

Did anyone track how this went down for Texas/LA/MS when they got theirs? Was it this sort of on/off cadence?

I didn't pay any attention since GA wasn't on the list. ;)

Yes...that's why I keep saying that people losing the maps is a sign it is coming for more. There was a big influx of people suddenly losing the TX maps before it had wide release.

And today marks 5 weeks since they first were visible. I agree...Thursday or Friday release.

I couldn't find an answer through search so I am trying my luck here:
Will there be music controls within the new IOS Apple Maps App during navigation (like Google Maps has it for Apple Music & Spotify)?
Thanks!

I wonder if the maps updates will include actual more current maps. The Nashville map is about 2 years old, which is a lot as fast as the city is growing.

Does anyone know what countries are getting the new maps? Specifically asking about the UK :)

Best guess on UK is you will start seeing your first section (most likely London metro area) the first half of 2020 with the remainder of the country by the end of 2020.

Add some pictures to get clear explanation about the list.Because only an article can not give a clear picture of the maps.

I'll see if I have a few extra hours available today for that..... ;)

But seriously, that's a good idea. We move pretty fast and furious in here and everything on the list has a ton a pictures associated with them in the pages of the thread, but that's a LOT to go through now. I'll start grabbing some and seeing how they look in the list.

Nashville was only mapped just last summer if my recollection is correct. It should be fairly up to date and Apple is already remapping CA and other areas released first, so I think updates will come at least yearly if not sooner based on major changes. Owned data is going to be a wonderful thing!

No announced plans for that right now for music to be integrated within the map app itself.

Regarding Nashville - The new building my company moved into 2 years ago is still shown under construction on my version of Apple Maps. Maybe it was mapped, but it's not what I'm seeing. By my estimation it's about 2 1/2 years out of date at best.

This will likely not show up until the new Maps layers are deployed in the Mid South.

For all newcomers to this thread, some points of clarification:
  • Apple is deploying a somewhat redesigned Maps app in iOS 13. This will have features like "Share your ETA" and "Collections".
  • The new Maps app is not the same as Apple's deployment of new Map layers (essentially, the depiction of geography, roads and structures that are displayed on screen). The new Map layers are being deployed slowly across the US. So far, they've been rolled out for the Southern 2/3 of California and the Desert Southwest, plus Texas, Louisiana and the southern half of Mississippi. In recent weeks, they have had what appears to be a trial deployment in the Northeast (NY, PA, and New England). Some of us have had those on one or more of our devices, either since they started doing this or for some limited time (I had mine for 2 weeks and then lost it). We believe that Apple will be ready soon to release the Northeast to all Apple users based on how they deployed the new layers in the other regions. However, this is NOT dependent on the release of iOS 13 or the new Maps app. So they might do it today, or they might not.

I think he's referring to the satellite view.

I cannot speak for the rest of the country, but I think the satellite view here has only changed twice since Apple stopped using Google for the Maps app.

Well, iOS 13 has been released, and Maps on my Mac are still showing the old data here in New England (iPhone is updating right now so haven't checked.) I guess we have to wait a little longer.

Not sure that can be made as a blanket statement. It's a mix between 3rd party supplied views as well as their own Flyover view. Data listing says Copyright 2013 from DigitalGlobe with portions copyrighted 2013 from Microsoft.

No one has really mentioned when that would be updated or how it will tie into the new Maps data currently being released.

Hence why I didn't make it a blanket statement. I live in a rural area that might not be updated as frequently as more urban areas for one thing.

The satellite view at my home has been updated within the last two years. Before that, it had only been updated once (maybe twice).

Sorry...misunderstood! I still wish they would discuss or better show that info. I like that Google shows it right on the image. Maybe they will update that since they do show the date on Look Around images.

FYI...Reddit users reporting getting the NE update today!

iOS 13 is currently installing on my phone. I'm starving, but I'm not heading out for lunch until this finishes. Then I'll get to experience new CarPlay for the first time when I head out.

Having Thursday and Friday off from work some weeks is a wonderful thing....

iOS 13 installation complete. I got a wonderful screen when opening Maps, talking about new features.

But I'm still on old Maps. No Northeast update yet for me. :(

I do like how my favorites are being displayed on iOS 13. And I was able to "refine" my garage's location much more easily. I'm gonna head out shortly to try out CarPlay and get pizza.
