So guys...I just found an old iPhone 6 in my room! Hadn’t seen it in years. Was gonna sell it years ago, but then it went missing. Now it’s found.
I booted it up, and found it’s running iOS 10.0.1. LOL It’s not compatible with iOS 13, so it can only update to iOS 12.4.3 (which I’m not doing...yet).
So you might be asking yourselves...what does Apple Maps look like on such an old phone with an old operating system? Well, it’s...odd.
It’s definitely showing the new maps, at least as far as street layouts, street names, and new parkway shields are concerned. But it’s missing the layers of greenery that we’ve come to expect from the new maps. So bizarre.
Check out two samples below, followed by what they look like on a newer phone.
Also, on the old phone running iOS 10, the building outlines don’t appear until you’ve zoomed in super, super close.
