If your MacBook is your main computer and you don’t have a robust backup strategy, I wouldn’t mess with those random Chinese drives.
Using the adapter with an NVMe is already short of a hack to begin with. Using generic SSD is just not worth the hassle.
What country are you in? I’ve had great luck with Corsair on my MBA and my wife’s MBP. It’s only been 2 days on my SK Hynix, but so far so good. Both of those weren’t mentioned in your post.
I live in Brazil. I live in a small country town. The brands Sabrent, SK hynix, Kioxia, among others that are much talked about in this topic, are only possible through importation, with receipt terms of 45 to 60 days, with taxes and with the same deadlines for return or exchange, if that possibility exists .
The models easily found here are:
Kingston NV1
kingtson Nv2
WD SN350 green
WD SN570 blue (with any luck it's found)
Samsung 970 and 980 (very expensive)
Crucial P3 (incompatible)
Crucial P5
Intel 660 and 670p
Corsair mp600
I found the Kingston A2000 1tb, which is my main choice, but with an abusive price of almost 200 dollars.
I already bought a Crucial P3 and managed to return it, but I don't want to make a mistake again. My priority is to preserve the battery that already has 600 cycles and increase space. Speed would be a bonus given the scenario.
