Will Verizon charge me an upgrade fee? My iPhone 13 Pro is unlocked from Apple and all I did to activate was remove the sim from my iPhone 12 and put it in my 13 pro. my phone is fully activated on VZW but I didn’t get any message that I would be charged a fee.
Since you moved your sim from your 12 to 13 pro you will not be charged. I moved my sim from 12 pro max to 13 pro max and there weren’t a charge and have always done this route in the past.

lol, not about bragging rights for me, always use to hear from android users, only reason why the iPhone has better battery life is because it has a 60hz display, well it just smoked them with 120hz and a smaller battery 😁😎 Drops the mic and exits the room. 😎👇

well i do! because i’m over these android folks i’m surrounded by. yesterday my sister was teasing me while i was waiting on my phones saying Apple has us whipped and minds morphed. then asked what’s new about the iPhones and every feature i mentioned she said android has that. she was joking to get me riled up because she gets a kick out of my reactions. we’re a fun bunch 😄

Yup. My mom told me that yesterday cause when she opened the door the driver handed the package to her, so he must’ve known it was an iPhone. Typically they just leave it and run
Yeah, they know. My driver said with a big smile, “You must have an iPhone.” Then told me he knew because it was noted that he needed to make contact with someone at the residence. Fortunately, I was able to be home the whole day. My office overlooks the front of my house, so I can see/hear when delivery trucks pull up.

The decision to have launch day on a Friday compounds the difficulty of many of our botched UPS deliveries. Some UPS redeliveries and CC pickups can happen on Saturday while most seemingly cannot. How many days should one be held hostage on standby for UPS?
I'm actually flabbergasted at how bad UPS has messed up for me. Two calls to UPS gave me erroneous information and somehow managed to get my package in UPS jail. Tracking status has an "estimated delivery" of Monday (which is fine), but says "Hold for pickup today confirmed" and they are closed today. It also says "The package is not yet available for you to pick up. This status will be updated when the package is available." And to top it off "Change My Delivery" is completely broken.

Activation fee is awaiting for you and for all who activated Verizon on new devices . 20$ last year , 35$ this year .

That’s only if you activate a new sim card that came with the phone (12 and below, since I heard 13 doesn’t come with one). When you move your sim card from older device to a new device there is no activation fee. Period. I have done multiple times and not once was there a charge on my verizon account whatsoever.

I think the UPS system is broken. Despite having a my choice premium account, there’s been no scans on my package since yesterday at 5:05am- showed out for delivery them changed to on the way at 8pm. No scans after 5am yesterday and nothing today. Customer service says they can see my phone at the huh though. What a joke. Not even keeping my fingers crossed for Monday at this point.

I've moved SIM cards on Verizon and experienced the activation fee. You must just be lucky.

You should call Verizon about that because you should not be charged an activation fee when you take your sim card out from your old device to a new device. I’ve been with Verizon since the 7 came out and every single year I buy sim-free model and all I do is just move the sim card from my old device to new ones and never been charged.

Now if I was to start a new IUP or New DPP on Verizon, then yes, I’d definitely see that activation fee on my bill but since I am not doing those, the activation Fee never comes on my bill.

I have and they have told me that it's a legit fee they charge even if its just moving a SIM now. I've had an account with them since 2006, it didn't start happening until around 2018 which is when I noticed that. They told me the only way to waive it was by having an employee discount with waived activation/upgrade fees.

Well it’s kinda stupid on them that they charge you an activation fee when you just moving your old sim to your new one and not activating a new one. But at least I have not been charged at all for all these years for them.

I think you may be right. The 2nd UPS rep (the call today), who I could barely understand, alluded to there being something wrong with their system and asked if I had a long hold time (which I didn't). He said that someone would call me around 3PM with more information if my package would be delivered today. Nobody called. I think I would have been surprised if someone did and completely floored if someone delivered. Here's to hoping we will see both our packages safely delivered Monday! :)

I think you've been getting lucky or Verizon is just different from AT&T. I have been charged an upgrade fee every single time I have bought a new phone regardless if they really were involved or not.

The question is how you buy the phone? Like do you buy it outright full price? Or DPP? IUP? I mean if you purchase it outright sim-free model, you really shouldn’t be charged an activation fee because you are just moving your old sim card to the new one. Kind of a dumb move on carriers IMO.

Ah, good questions. I have bought all my phones outright for many years now. I am not part of the IUP program. I'm always puzzled how AT&T thinks they are part of the process and entitled to an "upgrade fee" just because I bought a new phone. But I just accept it as, "yea, everyone has to get in on the action". Still feel it is unwarranted.

Yea. I buy my phone at full price and not the carrier model versions. I alway buy the sim-free model and just insert my own sim. So it’s just weird that carriers like Verizon and AT&T would charge you an activation fee on a sim-free model. Plus when I go check my verizon account, my devices would say iPhone 13 Pro Max SO (which SO means Sim-Out).

I’ve given up so I guess Monday it is. Thanks! Hope yours is delivered on Monday as well.
