Had horrible problems with Apple's website this morning. Was ready 5 mins before launch but even after 10 minutes I was getting the "just a sec" message on Apple Store. Restarted phone then got through but was hit with "502 Bad Gateway" multiple times.
Hopped on the computer only for the same thing to happen. Finally went to my email and tried to access the phone that way. After a few tries it went through around 7:20 my time (17 minutes after launch)
Confirmation page wouldn't load and didn't receive email until 7:27.

256GB Pro Max Gold, Sep 24 Delivery

Yeah that isn’t why mine was declined. Both of those things weren’t an issue for me. I have a high limit that’s not being used and my billing address has been the same forever.

Can’t believe Apple messed up on taking their own card. So much for that 3% 😡
Yup, sounds like a Goldman problem to me. Time for people to complain so that the app and Goldman Sachs can get their stuff together. The preorder scenario should have removed these kinds of problems.

Too everyone who said they had trouble trying to use the  card with IUP, well yeah it’s because you can’t use that as a payment for IUP!!

It’s because they offer the 24 months financing with the  card so it’s a conflict of interest with IUP because that program goes through Citizens One.

Anyone facing this issue. I got the email but it doesnt show up in Apple store app. I did another for my wife and hers does

I ordered non-IUP, but still Apple Card, and had no issues with the pre pre order. It just IUP then?

Got me pre-order processing confirmation at 13:03. - iPhone Pro Max 256GB Silver . Web.
Delivery next Friday

I now have a day or two to figure out I shouldn't have.....

I got charged for the taxes and then it said the first installment will be $30 and then $33 something for my 13 Pro Max through ATT. Does that mean I won’t get charged with additional fees for upgrading to a new device?

I used my Apple Card to make my purchase and it went through without a hitch. I'm very sorry to those that did not have a good experience using their Apple Cards; Apple will have some explaining to do on this.

What? I’m on IUP and have been using my Apple Card for it since last year. Got through fine using my card #.

I can’t remember from previous years, can anyone see their orders in the Apple Store app? That is where I placed the orders, but under ”orders” it says I have none. I did receive emails with my order numbers

You may not be able to see it for a while because the system is inundated. However, I received an email confirmation showing my order is being processed.

I’ve used it as a payment for IUP since the Apple Card was released… so no that’s not it

BTW the $1000 from ATT and others only gets you full amount if you keep phone for ENTIRE 36 month contract since its taken out of each months payments.

I wish the listings written about would show the best deals for the short term not being forced to hang onto phone for entire contract for that $$$.
Actually I think you can do whatever with the phone as long as you keep AT&T service for the full 3 years. I skipped that and went to the apple installment plan so I can switch carriers anytime I want.

Best I can tell the Apple Card issues are 1 of two things. Either you don’t have enough available credit on the card (you must have more available than the purchase price even if doing installments) or you have your billing address wrong.
That isn’t the case. I have a $7500 limit and a current balance of $455. My address has not changed since I opened the card when it came out. Something is whacked and it pisses me off.

If you ordered an ATT version and didn't see the upgrade fee specified, then they'll still ding you with it on your monthly bill.

Ah yes the yearly thread of everyone freaking out watching their phone travel

save you some time
1) no you aren’t getting it early even if it ships early
2) you’ll get it on the date it says on Apple.com it will make it even if it leaves Alaska the day before
3) chill: don’t bother ups or FedEx they cannot do anything other than read what the website says regarding tracking. Susan at the help desk can’t make it move faster

I can’t wait, been holding out for a few years. My iPhoneX battery life sucks and have to pretty much keep it on a charger multiple times a day. I ended up buying three different cases because I couldn’t find the exact one Apple made before (folio) and didn’t want to be stuck with a sucky one. I think the Nomad leather will be the nicest (I had one many years ago).

Haven't been to this party in three years! Upgrading my XS Max to a 13 Pro Max 128gb in silver. Store opened a few minutes late for me (apple store app), but got my order in by about 7:05CST. I really liked the new "pre-pre-order" system. It was nice not having to frantically select the correct configuration and make sure I remembered to do my trade-in.

I debated doing in-store pick-up, but I had a good experience in 2018 with having my phone held at the local UPS Customer Center so I think I will do that again this year. Fingers crossed!

edit: I paid in full with Apple Card, no issues.

If you get charged the upgrade fee from Att just call them and get them to waive it. I do it every year once the charge hits my account and they always waive it. It also helps that I’ve been a customer literally since 1997

I had trouble with my Apple Card too. I finally had to use another card. Thought it was just me till I came on here and saw others issues.

So aa it stands now it looks like we can’t change the card for the initial payment but we will be able to change the loan to the Apple Card? (Hopefully!) Annoyed we lost out on Apple Cash and annoyed I’ll have to go through the trouble of changing the loan card.

This is false. You even get the 3% on the monthly payment even though it shows up as Citizen One Loans.
