I usually got the option after my phone cleared customs. Not too hopeful this year, though.
I just checked with apple cc, he / she said contact once status changes to shipped on Apple.com
In past years this almost always coincided with (or happened near to) the customs release/import scan. Maybe Apple releases restrictions at the same time they put the UPS tracking number on the order?
This just gave me an idea, purposely go on vacations the week of iPhone launch and be home by Thursday so I stop checking status’s every hour 🤣
I don’t blame you. The nearest Apple Store to me is about 2.5-3 hours. So, I usually have it held at the UPS CC.
You will just be checking the status while on vacation 🤣
I’m referring to the IMPORT SCAN that usually takes place on Thursday before they go to their final destinations. I’ve been able to do it in previous years. It might’ve changed this year. I guess we will see after the scans populate.

Seems weird that you charge slow to save the battery but upgrade every year?
Maybe every 2 or 3 hours haha. A shiny new iPhone would certainly be great for post-vacation woes!
Well I did it. After the unfortunate situation I have caught up from being over 400 pages down. Now I can keep up with everything people are saying.
One thing I should mention. Yes it’s about charging your iPhone. With the 15 Pro and Pro Max, the system of charging has changed. You have a full complement USB 3 system to charge with. The new iPhone can take up to 35 watts of charge power. And if you also have a Mac, you have full thunderbolt three support.
I have already built a system to charge my new phone at the 35 watts of power. It’s going to get charged with that on Friday.

Anyone in the Los Angeles area, have any luck with any Pro Max's for in-store pick-up? I check periodically but nadda.
Silicone cases can be a lint magnet and they may not slide in/out of pockets smoothly.
Pretty sure they're sold out everywhere, not just LA. You can try on Friday morning though for some stock.
Another exciting thing about Friday: It'll be my first time in an Apple Store on an iPhone launch day! Curious to see what that will be like.
I'm coming from a 12 pro max so I can DEFINITELY REALLY notice the difference between mine and the 15 Pro Max.
