I want out of the JOD program and per t mobile they told me I can pay $510 total to pay off the lease and the balance and I would own the phone. Then I would trade it into Apple for the upgrade program. I am debating and think it may be a waste of money. Not sure what to do.
You could just jump to some cheap T-Mobile phone RVVL... and then return it within 14 days... thus ending the lease... but paying restocking fee. You are our of your lease at that point.

If you want out of JOD, do a JOD trade in for any phone that is zero down. You need to do the trade in through customer care or T-Force on twitter. Once you receive the new phone, take your old phone into a store and turn it in. After that you can request to return the new phone since you are still in the buyers remorse period. No restocking fee for any phone ordered through customer care or TForce. Now you have no JOD phones and are free to do an EIP on any phone you choose.

Hello folks,

For those of you who had to do a down payment last year, was it a down payment + taxes or just the down payment?

Thanks!

Depends on how your upgrading. If it’s JOD then you only pay taxes on your down payment. For example if it’s 0 down then no taxes. If it’s $100 down then you pay taxes on the $100 only. If it’s EIP, then taxes are due for the whole device plus down payment.

I am in the same boat. Looking for the same model and trying to figure out what to do. I have the Apple $400 ready to go in the morning. That is looking like the best deal at the moment if you don't want to deal with private sellers.

So Calif
T Mobile announced half off a new iPhone 11 with an iPhone 7 trade in!!!

WHOO HOOO!! That is exactly what I wanted since I am coming from a 7+ that I got 3 years ago from Apple's 0% financing...

From CNET:
"As it has in recent years, T-Mobile is doing something different, offering potential savings of 50% or more to current customers who trade in their iPhone and get a new one from the carrier on its 24-month installment plan.

While the exact values for each phone aren't yet known, T-Mobile says you can trade in an iPhone 7 and get half off the $699 iPhone 11. Trade in an iPhone XS Max and get half off the $1,099 iPhone 11 Pro Max.

The iPhone 7 deal is actually better than Apple's own iPhone trade-in offers, which only knocks off $150 when trading in that device for an iPhone 11. Trading in an iPhone XS Max for an iPhone 11 Pro Max seems to be better at Apple, which will knock $600 off the price of an iPhone 11 Pro Max to take the $1,099 phone down to $499.

The offer will apply to those looking to buy an iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max, XR, XS or XS Max. As with other deals, taxes and fees are due at the time of purchase and you must trade in your older iPhone in good condition within 30 days of your new phone's shipment if you order online (you can also trade in immediately if you buy in-store)......"

When you're pre-ordering tommorow make sure you tell them you want the fastest shipping possible.
Yes! Last year, overnight was not by default as it was in previous years. If they make you pay for it, do it and then you can try to have T-Force credit you back later.

Prices on TMO NEWS is for a full price phone - same as what other carriers & Apple are currently offering.

When can we expect to see the trade in prices which are not listed yet.

Please post when that goes up!

Yes, if you don't a have a trade in, it's nice to see that T-Mobile is not asking for huge down this time around.

I am waiting to see how much they are offering on the 11 using my 7 as a trade in - if it's half, then I should expect my monthly to be around $15 for 24 months ???

My question though is what is "Super Well-Qualified"? Last year I had to put down $450 for my XS Max 64 GB. I have excellent credit and I'd been with T-Mobile for several years. I tried last year to get a solid answer but it never happened.
If those numbers hold true for me then maybe I'll lease again otherwise I'm getting off the lease train. Still undecided.

My wife has a 7+ and T Mobile looks to be the better trade in deal here. However, I have an X and Apple has a better trade in for the X. Torn between both.

Those with TMobile, when preordering the phone on Apple store, what is the advantage with selecting T-Mobile vs unlocked (paying full price)?

If one buys an unlocked phone, can you just take the SIM card out of your old T-Mobile iPhone and out it in the unlocked one and be done? Or is there more to it? TIA
