Does seem to be chewing through the battery though. Seems to be lasting less than an hour from full charge to 20%.

Not unexpected for a beta. But still not so good.

I wasn’t criticizing anyone! I like the updates enough to not use What If until it’s patched.
Oh, I didn’t take your post as criticism. I was just assuring you that the Beta works very well.
And yesterday’s update makes it even better. Specially form using the the dark. No more annoying messages whenever I briefly cover the bottom sensors by accident.

What happened to the volume adjustment? No longer there by pressing the Digital Crown.

It’s been replaced by the gesture to bring up the mini control center. If you do that you’ll see the volume setting.

You can turn the old way back on in Settings if you go to Settings - Sounds - Use Digital Crown for Volume. Just flip that to on and it’s then accessible in both places.

I did that almost immediately until I got used to the new gesture and now I rarely use the old way as I found that switching it from the immersion dial to the volume dial to be kind of a PITA since I got the device.

Just curious, what does the Digital Crown do if you just have it set to use the gestures?

I do see that - although that gesture doesn’t always work for me - but it takes a lot longer to adjust the volume. Bad when audio comes on loudly unexpectedly.

Yeah I had some trouble triggering it as well, particularly with Beta 1, but Beta 2 has seemed better. I’m sure it’ll improve more as the beta cycle continues. I’ll use Siri to put the volume at a certain percent if necessary. If I tell Siri to set the volume at whatever percentage I want (for me it’s usually, 65, 75, 85 or 95 if I’m jamming out) that works in a pinch as well.

I've had to downgrade back to VisionOS 1.2 as VisionOS 2 beta 2 was causing windows to jiggle slightly introducing motion sickness. I'll try again with Beta 3...

Whatever was going on with having to calibrate the device frequently after installing beta 1 has been fixed for me in beta 2. I haven’t had to recalibrate it since I first installed the second beta so I’m happy to report that as of visionOS 2.0 beta 2 I’m not having any issues thankfully 😊

The past few days I've had increasing difficulty with eye tracking under 2.0 beta 2. I get many more "eye tracking failed" notices, and sometimes I can't select a target no matter what I do. Last night was especially bad — I couldn't do much of anything until I turned up the virtual environment, which improved tracking enough for me to go ahead and redo my eye setup.

Ten years ago, I would excitedly use beta versions, but the lesson I learned each time was that I should not upgrade on my primary device. So I decided to wait until FALL for the official version to be released.

Good choice. Some of us did upgrade to VisionOS 2.0 Beta and so far we don't regret it.
And you are right, I wouldn't install a beta on my primary iPhone, primarily because if I run into an issue not related to the beta, the carrier will most likely blame the beta and refuse to assist.

So far I haven't experienced that problem. Try re-doing the eye calibration. You could also go into Accessibility and set it to use only one eye. Maybe one of your eyes is having trouble. At least this test will help you figure it out.
Make sure your eyes don't get dry, so you don't get tired.

I noticed random stutters in B2. When my Eyes move very quickly from a window to my keyboard for example, I get a strange stutter or jump. Don’t really know how to describe it. It’s really annoying.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’m having to do eye calibration every day now. I’ve tried using one eye before but will try again.

I tried a couple things today:
  1. Set it up to use with one (my better) eye: Tracking was great, but nothing was displayed to the other eye after setup was complete. That's not how I expect it to work — it should use one eye for input but display to both.
  2. Did eye set up with one eye closed: Tracking was great if I kept it closed when trying to select a target, which wouldn't work well.
