Depends on the family...
Well, I wanted to keep it diplomatic and not speak that profound truth. ?

so you now don't have the extra screen real estate? The menu is under the notch and the whole notch area is just black? Or does it just make the menu area black? For those not wanting to see the notch in the screen, I downloaded TopNotch and have been using it since day 1 -- it works flawlessly. The only time you would know there's actually a hidden notch is when you place the mouse cursor over that exact area.
I just have it set to show the menu bar when apps are in full screen, that way you don't have a black "bar" in top of the screen and I'm using that extra screen part. I don't care about the notch though, doesn't bother me a single bit.so you now don't have the extra screen real estate? The menu is under the notch and the whole notch area is just black? I hope the screen is bulletproof and not like from M1.Mine slipped to Nov 8 for a day. Now its back (to the mac) Nov 1. tomorrow.
Despite getting sandy bridge, the 2011 models had a lot of issue. That's about perfect! Same with me. Replace when software support ends, but iPhone usually around 4 years and laptops about 6-7. I replaced my 2011 in 2016 as it started developing graphics issues and speakers went bust. Otherwise, it would have lasted me a year more at least.
Screen flicker persists after updating to Monterey 12.0.1.It delivered. 16” M1Pro 10-core cpu, 16-core gpu, 32gb ram, 2tb ssd.
yeah…
Immediately, bottom of screen, 3/4” flickers. Thin horizontal bars. ?
Called support. Started in safe mode.
Still flickers.
Updating from Monterey 12.0 to 12.0.1.
Will keep you all posted.
Referred from support to sales. Investigation opened. Got an email almost immediately, requesting photos of package, etc. The package was fine. No outward signs of mishandling or damage. I sent pics of flickering screen and everything they asked for. I’ll keep you all posted…Screen flicker persists after updating to Monterey 12.0.1.
Second call to support.
We need to create a waiting for 2022 MBP thread now
Nov 2, day 2.Referred from support to sales. Investigation opened. Got an email almost immediately, requesting photos of package, etc. The package was fine. No outward signs of mishandling or damage. I sent pics of flickering screen and everything they asked for. I’ll keep you all posted…
BTW, Apple have been quick to respond. Sales told me “investigations” typically take 2-3 days.
Thanks! They assured me they would do everything they could to expedite. I’m extremely curious as to what it is. The screen? I can tell you that when I adjusted the angle, it affected the flickering bars. Made me think it was the screen or the connections to the screen. But when it blacked out suddenly? Hopefully they‘ll be able to tell me… Appreciate your comment?.I hope they push your new one to the front of the line.
Since the screen is now black, I can’t use it at all.
It’s gone. They sent me a shipping label. Back it went. Supposed to get to them Thursday. They will email sometime after to tell me what’s next…If you have a spare monitor you could connect that and at least use it at a desk.
Unfortunately, timing depends more on what config you got vs when you ordered (although the latter of course made a difference). Most people who got their orders already got one of the many base configs, not the build-to-order (BTO) configs. So it really depends on your estimated delivery date. I got a 14" M1 Pro 10/16 but with 32gb memory/1TB SSD, ordered about 30mins after it opened up, and I got a Nov 5 - 10 delivery estimate.I ordered mine on 10/18 ... Its STILL PROCESSING..Delivery date not until Nov 18-24.. Why is mine seemingly longer than the rest of this entire website lol
Anyone else still in processing after ordering right after the event..?
