Man, I love this thread.
I'll be heading over to my local Apple store I the morning. I really hope they have them in stock :-D
Anyone heard about an i7 showing up in any store?
I generally don't like to order online BTO...
I also shop at the Stamford store -- they told me yesterday evening that they had some i5s in stock, but the sales rep had gotten the models mixed up (as I learned when I went down to buy one). Nothing in today when I called a few minutes ago. Oh well -- would love to hear if/when you hear something, though I'll keep trying.
Apparently when the estimated ship date online changes from "November" that is when stores will begin to receive stock. This has not happened in the UK or most of Europe. The vietnamese, New Zealand, Mexico and Brazilian statuses have changed.
Maybe I just didn't understand what you meant, but I thought BTO was available only online?
It'd be awesome if i7's showed up, but I'm not holding my breath.
wmt
Some of the stores are starting to get them. What I've heard is that it's all a matter of when UPS/FedEx drops them off at the store. They seem to be coming in small numbers, about 7-10 per shipment... or at least this is what my local business rep is telling me. I hate to be the guy calling the store incessantly but it seems that's what you need to do if you want to pick one up from a local store.
Melopark Mall NJ says they have a few I5's .....going to grab one now!!!
yeah, I've read on other threads/forums people reporting that their stores has 3 or 5 or 12 - never seen anyone say more than 15 yet. which I find odd, since that is a very ineffective way to ship them. most shipping boxes are shaped/sized they way the are to maximize how many fit on a pallet and I'm sure more than 5 iMacs fit on a shipping pallet...unless they were 'pallet sharing' with other Apple products?
Both estero and Naples Florida got i5s yesterday in store.

anyways... some NJ Apple stores seem to have some in stock, which means CT should be seeing them today or tomorrow. I need to go to the mall today anyways, so I might stop by when I'm there.
Just called San Francisco's downtown and Stonestown stores. No go.
Man, I can't believe Naples Florida has these and company's frickin' hometown hasn't even gotten them yet.![]()
