Waiting for 27" Quad to SHIP thread

Ordered an i7 on the 20th of October, here's what my tracking info says:

Int'l shipment release
ANCHORAGE, AK

There is a FedEx Hub in Detroit which is only about 2-3 miles away from my house. I would be ecstatic if I got it tomorrow!

Same here, I think its waiting on this flight. This is the same flight it came on from China. There was a 2 hour delay after it got to AK, but it will be leaving for Memphis in about an hour.

People tracking freight carrier planes - and there I was thinking that I was mad looking at my order status a few times a day lol

The "delay" was a clearance check for the products coming into the country. They will go to Memphis, and I am sure both of you will probably get your iMac's tomorrow. Everything goes out of Memphis by air to local airports and distribution areas for local delivery.

I'm not so sure I'll get mine tomorrow. By the time it gets to Memphis, it will be 3AM EST. There are a lot of other hoops to jump through before it gets to me.
 
Hey guys this may seem like a stupid question but waiting for my imac is taking forever and I am losing valuable time (since my regular mac broke) I was wondering if downloading the Adobe trials for my pc and installing them but I just wanted to know before I go thru all of the hassle of installing and whatnot if it lets you save the work you created? I know some programs don't allowed that as a trial. I am searching online but I dont see anything in that regards

Mine just departed finally according to the tracking site
I think it changed flights and it is flying to Indianapolis directly. If that is the case, I am getting it tomorrow.

Seriously? I got 'delivers by Nov 18, 2009' - nothing as soon as Friday. Where are you from in Canada? I'm in Edmonton. Maybe it'll take longer to get out west.
 
Has anyone from sother CT or NYC area know when their iMac will get there?
I'm trying to estimate when retail stores on my area will be gettig them. My assumption is that all the ones from a certain area are on the same freigt.

God, I would LOVE to pick one up tomorrow.

I gave my name and number to an Apple rep today and he said he would call me THE SECOND they get in. I hope he actually does and it wasn't just a load of BS.

In the email Apple sent you it says nov 18th like mine! But if you go on ups.ca they say nov 13th! I have 2-3 day shipping

Although this is not the forum to debate this issue, I think it is in poor taste to make light of a tragedy that took the lives of over 500 people who were protesting an oppressive government.

BTW - you've got some great pictures in your portfolio!
 
I realize that some people are receiving their i5/i7 today. Has anyone seen a review of these online anywhere?

I remember there were several reviews of the base 27 imac pretty quick after apple's official announcement. Thought it would be the same for the i5/i7 ones after it started shipping.

Innnteresting. I don't see any estimated shipping date on my UPS.ca tracking...

I plan to cancel my iMac 27 Core i5 IStock) which I ordered on Nov 10 and get the iMac 27 C2D 3.06 + ATI 4850 instead. I plan to use OCVertex Turbo SSD in it. I wonder if I should wait for the Quad core or just get the C2D. What are the differences between the C2D and QC anyway for a not so heavy user?

If you are spending that much money I say opt for the i5. Core2Duo is a 2007 technology. Of course, it will be much more beneficial if you do any kind of encoding or video editing.

I agree. I would feel like I had just picked up the older 24" model with a better screen.

Ordered on 31Oct09 - IMAC 27"/4850-512MB Z0GF , 4x2gig ram and apple remote.

I am in Adelaide, South Australia.

Order number starts with W5752

Shipping method says Road? Must have trucks that drive on water or in the air or something...

Status - Not yet shipped

Look for all the FedEx planes leaving that airport around the same time posted on the FedEx tracking site. I think mine switched to the Indy flight but I might be incorrect.

Wow, your iMac was shipped on the 7th of November? Did you order an i5 or i7? Sounds like you got yours way earlier than anyone else!
